The Education of Qila McClusky, Part 3

Previously, on MinerBumping... Agents Liek DarZ and Plasma Death ganked an untanked Retriever piloted by Qila McClusky. She rejected Liek's advice to buy a mining permit and fly a tanked Procurer. The next day, she was ganked again in Osmon, where she let loose with an hour-long tirade in local. Then Qila revealed a plot twist: She had deliberately allowed herself to be ganked in order to prove that the New Order is filled with sociopaths!

When Qila again declared her intention to quit, some in Osmon suggested EVE wasn't the right game for her. She disagreed. She loved everything about EVE--even suicide ganks!--but couldn't tolerate sociopaths.

To prove her point, Qila cited some mental health statistics. Based on her calculations, CODEdot could account for most of EVE's sociopath population. That's optimistic. Oh, if only 10% of EVE players joined the New Order! We'd have highsec cleaned up in no time.

Osmon residents began to question Qila's reasoning. Earlier, Qila claimed to have an alt who lost "hundreds" of ships by PvP'ing in wormholes. Then why was she so worked up about one measly little Retriever?

Qila explained that she was fine losing ships. She didn't even care about suicide ganks, generally. The only problem was that CODEdot was filled with sociopaths. Nothing to do with ganking at all, she said. Presumably this means Qila would still object to the New Order if its members were miners instead of gankers, if they did their mining in a sociopathic manner.

The miner's master plan was even more elaborate than previously understood. Not only did Qila allow herself to be ganked while mining--the plan to expose sociopaths was the whole reason she went mining in the first place! Agent Liek DarZ had played right into her hands.

Osmon local was treated to further details about Qila's exposé on the New Order: The whole system is designed as a means to harvest tears on an industrial scale. (I suppose saving highsec is just a nice side benefit.)

It was obvious that Qila was upset. Liek DarZ reminded her that she could get better results by piloting a tanked Procurer, but the very idea infuriated her.

In addition, Qila rejected any suggestion of remaining at her keyboard while mining. She quoted from a medical article to prove it posed real-life harm not to be AFK.

Liek Darz tried to show Qila that there were options other than AFK mining in an untanked Retriever. This only made Qila even more angry. She was being kind of stubborn, to be honest.

An hour and a half after the Retriever gank occurred, Osmon local was still in an uproar. If Liek DarZ was going to teach this miner anything, he was going to need to draw upon all of his training as a New Order Agent.

To be continued...

  1. I get the feeling that Qila could be the new Mine Tek. Can we look forward to a dozen episodes?

    1. I hope so.

The Petulant Ms McClusky intrigues me with her randomly lifted quotes and her widely flung (and desperate) accusations of sociopathy.

      Give me more!

Before my stint as an agent I thought so too.

  3. They will go after people they can easily break or manipulate. I'm one of those people. (Spelling corrections mine).

What? I mean, what? Usually the key part to manipulating someone is them not realizing it.
    What?

  5. I mine and haul all across "James" space all the time(without a permit) and rarely ever encounter these eve Juggalos called CODE. why? Because i fly smart, I pay attention to my surroundings, keep an eye on local and d-scan and most importantly pretend eve is RL.Fly smart, fly S-mart, and these pea-brained suicide gankers wont even see you long enough to gank you if at all. cause thats just what they are, simpletons who cant figure out how to win at eve so they let their security status fall to the lowest it can get and only blow up a ship if they blow up as well pod it back to a station and claim it as a victory while for the next 15 minutes they talk shit in local about your moms or about how your a pedo or whatever because they cant undock. Real classy bunch. And putting a posh english accent on your BS doesnt make it not BS. They prey on the weakest and lazyest of the population of new eden and i guess for the cowardly and immature that is enough to make them feel like winners. CCP endorses CODE because it makes them money, letting capsuleers be criminals, but what would happen if CCP let people join CONCORD? how long would code last then? Just a thought. Well see you in .5 space!

  6. What would it be like if people could join CONCORD, you say? Well, I suppose that CONCORD would officially support the New Order of Highsec if it had a choice!

Think of all the advantages that come with being a New Order Agent! Power, prestige, and the ability to deny any non-Code-compliant miner the ability to mine, any time you feel like it! With CONCORD membership in CODE., we could make it a CONCORD-able offense to be mining without a permit! 100% Code-compliance would be just a heartbeat away as CONCORD automatically blasted the imbecilic and foul-mouthed miners as soon as they switched on their mining lasers to steal James 315's ore! I wholeheartedly support CONCORD membership in CODE.

    1. LOL I see what you did there. Way to ignore my question and "suppose" your own "CONCORD membership in CODE" which you well know wasnt the point to my question, typical CODE BS. Why does CONCORD shoot at you? Is it because they share your ideals? Is it an invitation to an all night pillow fight in your knickers? The troll is strong with you Ming, have fun with that.

      I'd be down for that!

No, my response to you was serious, because your assertion, which was assembled from some pretty pure grr CODE., was "let's let players join CONCORD! Let's see how long you last then!!!"

What you fail to understand about the New Order of Highsec, (which incidentally, is completely responsible for why I am where I am and you are where you are) is that we are simply better at EVE then you are. We always have been, and we always will be. If there ever comes a tactic where you can join CONCORD, CODE. will simply go there, pick up the legitimate police powers that we are entitled to by the New Halaima Code of Conduct, and then use them to destroy all of the miners.

Malcanis's law clearly states that you cannot introduce a game mechanic that "benefits new players" that cannot be completely exploited by the older, more experienced players. Therefore, as you can see, The Code, and the New Order by rights, will simply triumph over any new development that could ever be brought up in this game. Because the members of CODE. were the first miners. We were the ones who slaved away in the asteroid belts, until we learned that it is more fun to flip someone's can, then give it back to them, and then kill them for stealing from you.

CODE. is the endgame of EVE Online. It is enjoying one of the most renewable and entertaining sources of content; those who think they can get away with not following the CODE.

    4. If people could join concord the same game mechanics would apply. You would fly around not agressing any one then when someone became a criminal you would fleet warp and go and kill them.

The same timers would be involved so the ganks would succeed or fail depending on the number of Cats and the targets skills and fitting and if they are paying attention.

Concord instant kills things so I guess you wouldn't make much of a difference. If you that interested in killing CODE. why don't you fly support for a mining fleet. You can defeat the gank by making the gank fail or actually kill mail whore off CONCORDS back. But you cannot defeat CODE. They win either way.

      1) They win if the gank succeeds.
      2) They win if they make you do something else rather than mine.
      3) They win if they make you play EvE properly instead of being AFK.
      4) They win if they make you interact with other players whether that be CODE. Anti Ganking or your own CORP members.
      5) They win because they are having fun.

  7. Someone should introduce Qila McClusky to Russell. Something tells me they would get along very well.

  8. Reading what she said in local was almost as painful as reading ming complain that he 'really is' a code member, because he 'really' did donate isk. At least she undocks, even thou its in stupid ways. Even i was tempted to tell her to shut up.

    1. M, it was the greatest 11 billion isk I have had the pleasure of spending. To know that you're still talking about it, seven months later.

That, is perhaps the greatest part of all.

    2. Ming, while you cry and cry about the isk you 'supposedly' spent (isk that you later also said you did not spend), players are out there playing the game. And no being docked up in fear is not playing the game, despite what you believe.

The greatest part is no miner ever has to fear you, as you fear doing anything but cowering in dock.
