MinerBumping Endorses Sabriz Adoudel and Xenuria for CSM10

It's that time of year again! The voting is open for CSM10. You can log in and vote for CSM10 candidates from now until March 10th. Remember, each account gets to cast its own vote.

As an Agent of the New Order, Sabriz Adoudel is an obvious choice for CSM. You can read Sabriz's official campaign thread, but membership in CODE. and loyalty to the New Order of Highsec are qualifications enough. Do you need to read anything else?

A note to members of voting blocs: I recommend putting Sabriz at the top of your ballot, ahead of the rest of your bloc's voting list. Even in the largest nullsec coalition blocs, only the top few candidates are likely to get any value out of your vote. On the other hand, if Sabriz is not elected to the CSM, the voting power moves down to the next candidates and your vote will be processed like any other member of your bloc.

A note to the disaffected: If you're on the fence about participating, I encourage you to take the few seconds needed to vote. This year, the field is filled with incumbents running for another term, so fewer spaces are available than usual. When you factor in the difficulty of not belonging to a large voting bloc (nullsec coalition, wormhole ballot, large alliance, etc.), the odds are stacked against Sabriz. Every vote counts.

Xenuria is our other endorsement this year, though it comes with a number of caveats. First of all, Xenuria doesn't really belong on the CSM. This endorsement isn't meant to suggest Xenuria would make a good CSM member. He wouldn't. In fact, you should probably leave Xenuria off your ballot.

All that having been said, a vote for Xenuria sends a word of caution to CCP. It reminds them that they shouldn't take the CSM for granted, and that whatever issues they may have in dealing with the CSM candidates who do get elected, things could be worse.

You can read Xenuria's official campaign thread, I guess.

As in the previous two elections, you find your candidates and drag&drop them into your order of preference. Vote for CSM10 at this link.

BONUS!

Jahyson Malone is a promising artist. Inspired by others who have submitted New Order artwork, Jahyson sent me this:

The full-size version is certainly worth the click. And if you're planning on making a visit to highsec, a mining permit is certainly worth the 10 million isk.

  7. Adding Xenuria to this post is a good way to balance the seriousness of my candidacy with some good old fashioned James-style hilarity.

I personally advise people to vote Tora Bushido #2, then to fill up the ballot with candidates that are not Mike Azariah. Tora is the second best highsec predator candidate. And once myself and Tora are either both elected, one elected and one eliminated, or both eliminated, having 'randoms' in your ballot reduces the chance of the actively destructive Mike Azariah getting onto the CSM. (He's probably certain to do so, but it's worth doing what we can to harm his chances).

    1. He's not terrible, just weird and passive aggressive. His name was the one that got scratched off the monument.

    1. Can you explain why you think another candidate is a better choice?

Having skimmed Sabriz's campaign page over briefly, it looks mostly positive to me. I like the proposed change to scale the wardeccing fee on the aggressor, and the proposition of giving people an incentive to defend rather than scurry to the four winds.

So, is there something in Sabriz's campaign platform you think I shouldn't like, and if so, what do you think is wrong with it?

    2. That Sabriz is proposing game changes to "take to CCP" tells us that she doesn't understand the purpose of the CSM. I'd say voting for someone who doesn't have a clue what they are running for is exceptionally foolish. But I'm sure that won't stop you.

    3. There is a 99.99% chance that even 'if' sabriz would happen to get enough votes, which in itself is unlikely, she would simply pull a james and Chicken Out, Deny Everything.

    4. Still, nobody has told me what's wrong with her platform. As I understand it, foolish though I may be, the people on the CSM are fully capable of airing their thoughts on what changes would be good for EvE to CCP.

My reasons for carebearing up their forums include simply learning about EvE. If I ask a question here, an agent usually gives me a polite answer. I like discussion and I like examining issues from multiple perspectives.

I just want to know what, without including any personal attacks, people disagree with in Sabriz's platform, and why.

    5. You are a delicate little flower aren't you. Why do you speak of personal attacks when there are none? I would just like to know, without including any vile profanities.

  11. Highsec carebear here. Due to my dissatisfaction with CCPs handling of the CSM this past year, my accounts will vote as james suggests. Hell I would even praise him if CCP get the message, i.e Professionalism. Even if it's a front, at least manage that.

  12. I will certainly place Sabriz just before Xenuria on my ballot!

  13. While I support Sabriz (and will vote for her), even mentioning her in the same sentence as that little pedo is in truth a disservice to her.

I would also like to mention that RvB has its own candidate again, Khador Vess.
While generally disinterested in the politics that are EvE Online, one thing that RvB is NOT is carebear. So if in doubt, Khador Vess is a name you should put on your voting ballot.
