Wisdom Raining Like Antimatter

Pop quiz for all you aspiring Agents out there: How do you know if a miner is a Goofus?

...They'll show you.

More often than not, they'll show you repeatedly. A Goofus would rather disgrace highsec than spend 10 million isk to help save it.

Agent Liek DarZ came across a Goofus miner while on patrol in the Sinq Laison region. Liek has helped thousands of miners, so he knew just what to do.

The loudmouth carebear's mining barge was ganked. Though a mere Retriever, it was much more tanked than you might expect. Still, packing on a few thousand extra EHP doesn't give a miner the right to show disrespect to one of our Agents.

When the miner returned to her keyboard and discovered that the power of the Code had come upon her vessel to discipline her, she felt chastened. Her attitude immediately improved.

...So much so, in fact, that she was more than happy to buy a mining permit.

Questioned further about her new outlook, the miner revealed that she was incredibly happy about being ganked. So much for the charge that our Agents are "griefers"!

Eris Discordiaa no longer wanted Liek DarZ to "stick the permit in his ass". Instead, Eris stuck it in her bio for all to see.

Still beaming with joy, the miner penned an EVEmail to Liek apologizing for a number of specifically enumerated crimes.

'Twas indeed a thing of beauty. The rebellious, bot-aspirant miner now sounded like a Gallant--like one of our Agents, in fact. This is the bright future we have to look forward to: A highsec 100% filled with compliant pilots all obeying the same Code.

  1. Sights such as this are becoming more and more common. Our reputation has grown fearsome; these days many miners undock with the full expectation of being ganked. Some of them test us by seeing how much ore they can steal before getting caught, then repent and throw themselves before the mercy of our Agents.

    3. Ah anon, you speak of that which all Agents dream. The day that all of James 315 Territory is compliant we will unload our neutron blasters and dock our catalysts, and scatter into the lowsec and the nullsec and the wormholes, and bask in the endgame content.

Or... we'll worry about that when it happens.

    3. But I just said that content has increased by 85%. How can content be lost as it increases?

Silly anon... Minerbumping.com has made huge content gains as though it is on content-steroids and a harsh workout routine. You're just too blind to see it!

...That is unless you can somehow quantify or prove your ludicrous assertion that runs contrary to my own flawless expert analysis?

    4. So why would the Kusions get banned? Did they gank you recently? Are you "the wrong miner" to mess with? Do you have powerful null/low sec friends waiting to avenge your fail fit mining barge kill? Will you get them banned for harassing you in safe sec?

I got it! Youz a supah smart space lawyer!

    13. Well I've noticed that each comment is quality-wise about 7-9 times better than the comments that were around before moderation. So, even losing half the raw number of posts, with a 9 fold increase in quality we see an overall increase in net content from a more comprehensive perspective than sheer post numbers, which are a primitive and frankly idiotic way to measure or quantify content.

      Delete
    14. Loss of number egardless of quality of comment is still lost content. A great number of people dislike the content you provide in the game, therefor if your James has built a truly equal society then you must remove your content from the game as you have remove content from the site. Code failed again.

  4. Eris was right to apologise to Agent Liek for her wrongdoing.

How the mining barge can hardly be described as "beautiful". They periodically emit a toxic smog, and miners rarely bother to clean their hulls. I find them quite distasteful, and can only imagine the awful rat infested squalor that must be widespread on-board.

    1. There is actually very little living space in there, as most miners cram ore in every possible free spot they can.

I tend to keep as little in my miner as possible, as well as spend as little time in it as possible, though i feel much better now that i fly my miners legally in the eyes of James.

    4. Now now agent moderator, you can only attempt to moderate agents from within Code's internal affairs division that you quite simply aren't a part of. I am though, and given all the new content around this website, I'd argue that it is easy for the agent to become distracted and lose focus. Given the alluring nature of all this increased content, I think it's safe to give the agent in question a "pass" on their alleged transgression.

    6. 'Content' as a noun is a word best avoided.

The basic definition is "that which lies within." It gained popularity as a buzzword among marketing gurus in the business of quantifying enjoyment. The term was later adopted by reddit pubbies and twisted beyond recognition.

The pubbie logic goes, "If content is good, and any action qualifies as content, then everything I do is good."

      May I suggest, 'fun'?

    5. Well with all the increases in content happening around here lately (some estimates say this site has been undergoing an 85% content increase), some miners are bound to slip through the limitless dragnet that is the mighty and perfect CODE. Alliance, that only allows the best people in eve to remain in it!

Don't worry though, with all the increased content it will only become easier to catch non compliant miners like you in the future.

    6. Sorry but the numbers do say otherwise. FAIL.
Trying to state that their is an 85% increase in content when in fact there is a dramatic decrease.
(Averaging 100 or more comments to averaging 30 to 40 per post) That's a decrease of more than 50%.
Numbers are not incorrect here. Your site has lost content.

    7. I dunno about all that bad math, but I saw estimates of CODE and minerbumping.com increasing content by 85% in some cases. I see this content all around. Why can't you?

Perhaps you just have a grudge against the CODE or something!

    8. The recent increase in content comes from increased post and comment quality that more than makes up for the lower number of comments per article. So much so that top content experts have calculated an 84.9837% increase in content on minerbumping.com since moderation came into effect. The numbers don't lie.

Do you think a lawn becomes worse after you remove the weeds?

    9. Please show your work for how minerbumping has increased content by 85%, please do not quantify comments by quality simply use raw numbers as quality is relative to the reader and can have a differing net worth and is thus not quantifiable.

    10. Removing weeds is a loss of content for a lawn because you are removing something from the lawn.

    11. The 85% increase in content was quantified by our top content scientists and experts. They calculated the increase in content to be 84.9837% using advanced scientific methods and mathematics. I merely rounded it up (and reasonably so) for marketing purposes. The numbers don't lie and science doesn't lie.

By now, you anti-ganking miner, you have argued against James 315, then against science, and now against math itself. Is there no limit to your depraved idiocy? Enjoy the extra 85% content here at minerbumping.com. Praise James and the might of the mighty CODE. alliance!

  6. Antimatter particles are almost identical to their matter counterparts except that they carry the opposite charge and spin. When antimatter meets matter, they immediately annihilate into energy.

Small amounts of antimatter constantly rain down on the Earth in the form of cosmic rays, energetic particles from space. These antimatter particles reach our atmosphere at a rate ranging from less than one per square meter to more than 100 per square meter.

Antimatter-matter annihilations have the potential to release a huge amount of energy. A gram of antimatter could produce an explosion the size of a nuclear bomb.

Antimatter and matter particles have the same mass but differ in properties such as electric charge and spin. The Standard Model predicts that gravity should have the same effect on matter and antimatter; however, this has yet to be seen.

A matter particle and its antimatter partner carry opposite charges, making them easy to distinguish. Neutrinos, nearly massless particles that rarely interact with matter, have no charge. Scientists believe that they may be Majorana particles, a hypothetical class of particles that are their own antiparticles.

PET (positron emission tomography) uses positrons to produce high-resolution images of the body. Positron-emitting radioactive isotopes (like the ones found in bananas) are attached to chemical substances such as glucose that are used naturally by the body. These are injected into the bloodstream, where they are naturally broken down, releasing positrons that meet electrons in the body and annihilate. The annihilations produce gamma rays that are used to construct images.

This concludes a short list of facts about antimatter.

  7. Another article with a nerfed comments section because words hurt the poor little code monkeys. Code is failing at what they claiming yet again. Hey we like bringing content to your site whether you like it or not, its for the betterment of your site.

    1. I don't get all these guys saying this blog is "nerfed" in terms of content? I read the site and comments every day and all I see is new content, which seems to be more than usual lately. Then I see the comment that minerbumping.com had increased content by 85% and that checks out, so it all started to make sense.

So, given that minerbumping.com has increased content by 85%, I don't see how anything "got nerfed" checked tofu. Wtf are you going on about?

Now I'm no expert on this or anything, but it almost seems like minerbumping.com has made efforts to increase content around here by anywhere from 80-90%! Fantastic work again, James. The increased content on this website is immediately noticeable! Wow!

So all you crybears trying to claim a victory because you think the comments section is a bit light on raw numbers, you are all sad little failures.

James could shut down the comments section and your in game tears would be all the content any ganker would need. This site is about exposing the failures and hypocrisies of the anti gankers and bot-aspirant miners. Your extra fail laden tears in the comments are just decadent surplus content.

Why would we miss your "content" when our cup overfloweth?

Your last little tantrum in the comments sections where you cry about nazis and a failed gunpowder plot (No coincidence that you picked a failed rebellion to soapbox from) only strengthened the case for total Code compliance.

'Total Code compliance' meaning miners would either accept the will of the people who play and develop EVE, or quit and go back to their themepark mmos.

Go enjoy the scripted life somewhere else.

EVE doesn't need anymore nerfs. It needs much less safety, how else can evolution be successful?
