Liberty or Death, Part 1

There are many tools available to the good highsec players: Suicide ganking, bumping, awoxing, wardecs, and the like. Once upon a time, can-flipping was also common, but it was nerfed into oblivion. But good highsec players adapt. Among them: Agent Bing Bangboom.

Bing loved can-flipping. He loved it so much that he got into trouble with his carebear-minded former alliance, U.S.A.T.O, which scolded him for engaging in PvP. As an Agent of the New Order, Bing has spent the past several months wardeccing, in a one-man crusade to encourage U.S.A.T.O to surrender to the Code. They fled highsec to live in a wormhole instead. But Bing followed them.

Bing located the wormhole's highsec entrance and used his authority as an Agent to pursue the bot-aspirants to their w-space sanctuary.

When he discovered that the carebears had neglected to power their POS shields, Bing brought the wrath of the Order down upon them. It wasn't pretty.

A single Agent had forced the alliance from highsec. Now he was casually destroying all of their stuff. Bing hoped that this demonstration of the Code's power would show them the folly of their ways.

Bing had nothing but love for the members of his former alliance. His only quarrel was with their misguided leadership.

Agents of the New Order rejoiced when they read Bing's latest report. The leadership of U.S.A.T.O was less pleased. But just who does lead the U.S.A.T.O alliance?

Her name is liberty. Her bio is a testament to Bing's hard work over the past year.

Believe it or not, liberty is the CEO of U-S-A-T-O PRIME, the main corporation of the alliance. Even the corporation description gives Bing (and yours truly) a shout-out.

And yes, the alliance description, too. Not many "pirates" can claim to hold such a distinction. It's like being one of the few people who have a country named after them.

Because I am merciful, I'll show you the picture that liberty hosted on imgur and keeps linking everywhere, so you don't have to type it into your web browser:

It's a badly-made anti-Order meme. Worse yet, it's an old badly-made anti-Order meme. It was made by someone else and first spotted all the way back in February.

Needless to say, I love the concept of liberty much more than the EVE player named "liberty". But I hate to see senseless bloodshed overtake anyone who could be convinced by diplomacy to join the New Order family.

Hand of friendship status: Extended. Granted, liberty's bio and her corp/alliance descriptions suggested she carried some baggage. After having her alliance equipment trashed by Bing Bangboom, maybe she would be in a more pliable mood. It was time to put liberty's leadership capabilities to the test.

To be continued...

  1. James still doesn't realize few people want to be his friend.

    1. Many people don't yet realize how great it is to have James as a friend. Thankfully, He is blessed with the patience to tolerate such people until they realize their mistake.

    2. From the look at the number of shares sold Anon, it would appear EVE disagrees with you. what proof do you have?

    3. Yi equates friendship to shares sold. I hope someone feeds you and you don't ever have to make decisions with real money.

    4. "Yi equates friendship to shares sold."

Anonymous equates "equating" to any kind of connection whatsoever. I hope someone feeds him and he doesn't ever have to make decisions with real money. (By real money I mean fiat money, used in meatspace, and by 'I hope someone feeds him' I mean I don't really care if someone feeds him)

    5. Looks like Anonymous here doesn't understand numbers. The sheer number of gankers and friends of the order should tell you a thing or two.

  2. So you're the new order of w-space now?

    1. To win a war, you have to take the fight to the enemy, and not simply stand back and defend your own space. High Sec remains The New Order of High Sec's priority, however to properly defend it we must venture outside our borders to fight back.

    2. In "Goin' South", the 1978 Western starring Jack Nicholson and Mary Steenburgen, there's a scene where a wanted criminal races for the Rio Grande, crosses it, and then proceeds to taunt his pursuers on the opposite bank in the belief that he is safe from justice.

It's a classic, so I won't spoil it for you if you haven't seen it, but let's just say that there are some very obvious parallels between what happens next in the movie and the tale of Bing's heroics that you've just read.

  3. You have to admire Bing's dedication. I went through an entire cycle of getting burned out on Eve, spending half a year in the "real world" amongst the normals, and returning to the game during the time that Bing has been waging his personal war. Fighting an enemy like USATO is an exercise in patience at the best of times, but Bing has never gotten distracted and walked away from it. He is also an excellent and prolific writer, his own account of these events is well worth a read.

  5. Bing is the exception to the rule when it comes to the cowardice that makes up the New Order. Bing actually will travel to WH space or where he must to fight. He doesn't just sit around and wait for some dumbass miner to gank like most of the deficient tards in the New Order.

But even with Bing, you all have what, one tenth of one percent of highsec covered now?
    Aim high tards, aim high.

    1. Bing alone covers all of highsec, traveling wherever he needs or wants to go, as does every Agent of the New Order.

    2. It's the New Order of Highsec - James 315's primary concern is to save carebears in highsec, after all. Bing's just going above and beyond and I see that his heroism has reached even you. Maybe there is hope for your recuperation!
