Twitchy Trigger Fingers

The New Order has eyes and ears everywhere. As we saw earlier this week, sometimes the carebears stream their highsec crimes on Twitch--unwittingly providing us with their own eyes and ears.

Once again, an illegal miner was caught broadcasting footage of his own larceny. Agent 290xanaots caught on within minutes.

Because the miner in question was a newbie in a Venture, our hero mercifully gave him a warning and instructed him about his obligations under the Code.

Incredibly, the miner remained defiant. He was a baby bot-aspirant. So 290xanaots handed the matter off to Agent Jake Makbema. Would Jake be able to teach the miner a lesson?

It was a trick question! In fact, Jake's destroyer got caught and killed by faction police along the way to the target system. But here's the thing: A key reason the New Order always wins is that we never give up. We lose ships constantly; it's part of what we do. Setbacks are irrelevant. One destroyer goes down, and another pops up.

And in the end, victory is always ours. Agent Dreadchain picked up where Jake left off, killing the Venture and its pod in a tour de force.

Among the Twitch streamer's former belongings was a "Mass Production" skillbook, pointlessly stored in the Venture's cargo. The miner had it all wrong. EVE isn't about skillpoints and expensive ships, but it's not about overwhelming numbers, either. You can produce massive amounts of garbage, but it's still garbage. Even a single Stabber pilot can be more powerful than a hundred thousand carebears. The New Order's spirit is what matters most in EVE.

Having been punished for his crimes--despite being warned by a friendly neighborhood Agent!--the carebear decided EVE wasn't for him after all. I guess he wasn't hooked on mining enough to buy another Venture.

After quitting EVE, the carebear loaded up StarCraft II's "World War Three" mode and began streaming that, instead.

...But the New Order wasn't done with him just yet. The miner had been so hasty to quit EVE that he failed to stick around for Dreadchain's post-gank lecture on the Code.

Desperate measures were needed. Dreadchain proved he lived by the New Order motto, "No miner left behind."

Our Agents are extraordinary people in so many ways. They are the best of the best of EVE. They are elite, within EVE and outside of it.

The streamer soon learned that our Agents' skills are not limited to ganking and bumping.

It was a day of victories. Hopefully everyone on the Twitch stream learned a lesson, beginning with the streamer himself. Always bet on the New Order.

    4. You're all very silly.

The dude was ganked once in EVE, where non consensual pvp is allowed.

He was then beaten at a consensual pvp game to which he obiously, err, consented.

God, some people's IQ is single-digit.

    5. From the pictures we've seen here nothing constitutes legitimate harassment. Not to mention the fact that Diesselcz not once demanded, nor asked to be left alone. Which is the first mandatory step that needs to be taken when filing for harassment as you will be asked if you made it aware to the alleged harasser.

But, if you feel he was harassed by your delusional opinion of what harassment is, go ahead and waste more time of the GMs.

      You guys are pathetic.

    9. No prob. Currently enjoying The Old Republic. A glorious theme park where PVP is consensual on a PVE server. Every now and then, when I'm tempted to resub to Eve, all I have to do is peak once at this site, and be reminded of the assholes that inhabit New Eden.

So I have to thank you, Captain. You have saved me quite a bit of money.

    11. And this is a case in point for the argument that CODE is costing CCP money by new players leaving the game. I am going to contact the victim in this case and see if he wants to complain to both CCP and Blizzard. Harassment is something that Blizzard takes very seriously. CCP might take this seriously because the actions of the new order cost them a subscription. If he was on a trial account, and since the agents in question KNEW that he was less than 30 days old and still ganked him, I'm sure CCP will use the ban hammer on those responsible.

    12. And before someone tries to twist what I'm trying to say...

Violating the EULA of one game by ganking a new player, and then following them to another game can be construed as harassment AND stalking.

    13. So you see a guy who streams himself playing 2 PVP games and getting killed and think it is harassment? My dog can be construed as a Hippopotamus, but that won't make him native to Africa.

So, Mr Butthurt Miner (1:32 AM) is going to contact Diesselcz and try to persuade him to seek revenge on our doughty heroes.

Of course, Diesselcz is quite incapable himself of making the complaints. I do detect the slight whiff of - can it be? - coersion.

Being a relatively poor player of 2 internet games doesn't make one completely ineffective as an human being.

Let the man take up his own cudgel, Mr Miner, and to hell with the consequences!

    17. No, it's not. Your carebear community will literally clutch at anything that seems "wrong" in whatever you define that to be and wail like a bunch of entitled children when you think you've discovered something, but are unwilling to see the facts for what they are because you and your friends blatantly suffer from the Dunning Kruger effect. Read the EULA/s, and then come back.

Setting up a gank from a dude streaming himself on twitch (like this has never happened before), then ganking him, then following him to another game and winning a consensual PvP match in that the streamer accepted knowing full well who he was playing against and all of this going over to be able 1-2 hours long, will not be considered legitimate harassment and you're all just grasping at straws and unwilling to listen to reason and wasting everyone's time.

BM, If someone streams something, they are publicly and willingly broadcasting themselves to the entire world (that has internet). In Eve Online CCP only states that ganking should not take place in rookie systems. Even if he was on a trial account, if he left the rookie system to mine in his Venture, he becomes a valid target. In regards to Blizzard, again, the dude was streaming and consented to a PvP match which he lost.

Nothing harassing about it. Unless, of course, PvP = harassment now. Which seems like the direction this is going because :carebears:

    18. So then Capt Starfox, if you get home from work today and find a miner you killed in Eve ,standing on your front lawn, saying "wrestle me bro", you would find this to be normal and acceptable behavior?

I don't care if you agreed to wrestle him and you wound up becoming great friends afterwards. The fact that you are incapable of understanding how this crosses a line and why the rest of us find your real life actions pathetic and creepy shows just how detached from reality you have become.

I feel sorry for you. You need to put down the gank Catalyst, go outside, and get a girlfriend other that your pixilated avatar before you get any stranger.

Whether it is a violation of an EULA or not is irrelevant. It is still flat out creepy.

You spend like what, 6 hours a day, playing this game, trying to find people who appear to be mentally challenged so that you can provoke them into a rage and "taste their sweet tears"? You people are just weird.

    20. @anon 831

Jesus, man are you retarded? You must be something as you're only willing to post with "Anonymous."

How is this so difficult for you to understand; oh, maybe you're "mentally challenged"?

How do you get off on comparing legal ganking within Eve Online and then legal consensual PvP match involving some dude who publicly streamed himself to some random dude showing up at some random dudes house asking to “wrestle”? You must be demented and retarded and maybe a little gay, I don’t know.

If some dude came to where I live because he hacked my IRL information off of the Eve Online servers, or other servers, he has now broken international laws, if I'm not mistaken. Regardless, he would have broken the law of the country I live in and he would be arrested and either extradited back to his country of origin, or throw in jail/prison. Not to mention it's by far way more "creepy" to IRL stalk a dude from a video, go over to his/her house and ask to fight vs. legitimately ganking a random player for profit (in-game currency) and having them agree to duel you in another video game. I really don’t expect you to agree with me, nor understand these words, because you’re an entitled scrub.

Clearly you don’t understand what having a girlfriend is all about; if you did and weren’t some basement dwelling nerd who has probably never had a girlfriend in his life to speak of, you would understand that having a girlfriend sucks; it’s enjoying the single life, having sex with multiple women over the course of time that’s great. In fact, I have a “girlfriend” coming over soon and I plan on having sex with her. Again, totally don’t expect you to understand, nor agree cause :pubbies:

You’re the one who needs to go outside; bro. Internet is too hard for you.

I spent time recently in the newby help channel and it's awash with bad advice such as train mining skills you'll earn more isk.

Sadly thats the advice I took and now getting in to a pvp mindset is difficult. Not impossible just difficult.

The thought of grinding isk in pve makes me shudder too after so many missions to get standings for high sec pos deployment.

The advice I gave to new players were two things. Take newby frigate to low null sec. Kill ships get blown up. Talk to people you meet.

Do this a handful of times and you're more likely to find helpful players that will offer advice, training plans and quite possibly a corporation that wont encourage blindly mining for their profits and instead focus on fun team activities.

  15. Every now and then I think, "maybe the New Order isn't so bad. They are just having fun in a game after all." Then you go and do something like this and make me remember that you really are idiots. Blowing up a new player in a venture---with a fleet of gankers!--till he quits the game is just plain mean. Following him to another game to continue the online bullying is a new low. I don't care if its officially harassment or not, or a violation of the EULA or not, its just bad behavior. Its just plain rude.

How would you like it if someone tracked down who you are in real life and showed up unannounced at your home or place of business? Would you say "it isn't harassment because I never specifically asked the creepy video game guy not to show up on my front lawn?"

The reason why you get real life death threats (which I do not approve of, no matter how big a jerk you are) is because YOU CODE MONKEYS cross the line and bring Eve rivalries into the real world, like with the bonus round, like with this.

You wouldn't like it if someone began tracking you outside the game the way you are doing to others. Seriously, for your own safety, start using some common sense and good judgement--leave what happens in Eve, in Eve.

However, after this post it seems obvious that some of the CODE followers have gone from weird, fanatic role-players to cult status; perhaps having sipped a bit too much a Jamie’s Kool-Aid or just caught up in your own delusional, megalomaniac self-righteousness.

In light of this latest post I’m formally issuing an open challenge against and any all Agents of the New Order to consensual Starcraft 2 PvP in the form on a 1v1 best of 3 match. You’ve overstep your bounds and I don’t wish to see EvE’s toxic community of trollers and griefers spilling over into others’. Even in the form of your role-playing guise I fail to see anyways your jurisdiction applies to anywhere outside of HiSec, let along to another game. Having read your code I can verify that there is no such thing as a SC2 Permit. It’s would seem, Mr. James315, that your agents are confused as to what qualifies as heroic and noble actions.

If you wish to save yourself the embarrassment, I understand. After all, despite controlling all of HiSec and being everywhere at once, you weren’t able to stop me once from mining on 4 alts in Retrievers and Hulks for months. I’m sure there’s nothing for you to be afraid of though. After all any “Master Tactician” that is the Agents of the New Order should be able to defeat a bot-aspiring scrub such as myself.

  22. We can't give the carebear apologists one inch, and this comment section is a perfect example why.

The miner was warned prior to being ganked and was in a .6, well beyond the range of any "starter systems" where newbies are protected. According to the rebels, though, this still counts as "bullying".

He is very clearly labelled as "host" in the SC2 game and presumably could've kicked Dreadchain at any point during his SC2 match if he felt harassed. Rebels still consider it harassment even if the harassed holds all the power.

When confronted with these facts, a carebear apologist will make any excuse he can to ensure that no "newbie" be he 2 days or 2 years old in the game has to take responsibility for his actions. Tank your ship, run from destroyers in belts, get a permit, and listen to an Agent when he convos you. He is likely there to help.

You might want to share the cake with allot of people here, its sickening to see how you accept this to be normal. It shows that you have completely lost al humanity for the sake of a game, and then you say carebears are bad?

  33. I'm a former CODE ganker who was, until this moment, still 100% on-board with what you guys do despite having moved on to other things for irrelevant reasons (Melody Amatin saying hi!).

This shit is too far. You crossed a line here. If you can't see that, it's time to take a step back and re-evaluate WTF you are doing in EVE. Come on guys... you were better than this once.

    1. Dear Anon 4:59.

You are aware that Diesselcz was hosting the SC2 game and knew full well who Deadchain was when he agreed to play against him?

I mean, you are cognizant of these facts while you scream 'Harrassment !!!eleventy11!!!" from the rooftops right?

I think you've been eating from you're own cake bowl to much. the guy didn't care when they were in sc2 and he even had the option to kick dread from the game but didn't namely because he didn't feel harassed.

As for the loss of humanity thing jesus christ is it panto season already?? stop with he dramatics, innocently messing with someone online isn't cause for saying someone has lost their humanity.

But lets face it nothing I say will matter because you're a carebear and you will look for literally any excuse to cry and shout and protest because that's all carebears ever do

  37. Do these butthurt carebears even have standing to petition someone for harassment against someone other than themselves? Not they're accomplishing anything other than making GMs laugh at their stupidity...just curious.

    1. I don't know man... Do they have permit to petition even? Someone should look into that.

A hearty chuckle was had from "Advanced Butthurt"

  39. Polluting the internet with streams of mining is a crime against humanity. Can the Holy Father of Hisec possibly tolerate such blasphemy within his realm - especially without a permit?
    _
We at BLOB-A-THON have repeatedly deployed all the way from the farthest edge of 0.0 to kill them when found. Be warned streamers - use your stream to bore us all to death with your mining and we WILL find you and we WILL kill you on camera. Even the quickest streamers have never been able to cut the feed before we pod them on their own show, and we are far weaker than even the lowliest of the CODE corps.

    You have been warned.

  44. Says the person making threats and rl insults toward other players while attempting to claim they take the "high ground"..all while posting as anonymous...wow, did IQ's just drop sharply in here? You can't claim it's bullying and harassment all while telling someone they should die in rl.. the very thing you claim to be against. HTFU..I suggest you get off the computer and go see a shrink, because judging by your comments, you need some help. If you are seriously bothered and that frustrated by losing something in a game..A GAME...you need help.
