A Blockade Against Bot-Aspirancy

The New Order of Highsec is the primary source of innovation and emergent gameplay in EVE today. And we need to be, if we're going to achieve our goal of absolute Code compliance. Our Agents are constantly adapting to find new methods by which they can eradicate all the various forms of bot-aspirancy.

From time to time, an Agent feels a calling to concentrate on a particular type of ship or activity. Agent V-ktor Dolus felt inspired to bring the Blockade Runners ever more deeply into the fold.

As a consequence of our freighter ganking over the past few years, many haulers have switched over to Deep Space Transports. They couldn't run or hide from our vigilant Agents; we've been seeing a lot of blingy DSTs show up on recent Kills of the Week posts. Blockade Runners are similar to DSTs, but they come equipped with covert ops cloaks.

When used as CCP intended, Blockade Runners are essentially uncatchable in highsec: Immediately upon entering a system, a Blockade Runner can initiate a warp to the next gate and activate its covops cloak before being locked. Since there are no bubbles in highsec, it should be smooth sailing for the BRs.

However, as our Agents discovered, many Blockade Runners don't bother using their cloaks--even when manually warping from gate to gate instead of autopiloting. But why? Because they assume highsec is safe. Therefore, they disdain the simple task of activating their cloak for each jump, despite the near-invincibility that would be granted them for doing so.

That's bot-aspirancy, my friends.

Agent V-ktor and friends tested the Blockade Runners by attempting to lock them upstream. If the ship was lockable, that meant it wasn't immediately activating its cloak upon entry to each system. The sentence for this crime was death.

One after another, the cloakable ships fell in battle. The game mechanics should've given our adversaries an insurmountable advantage. But the Code gave our Agents the victory anyway.

V-ktor used a combination of traditional gate gankers working with a small (but armored) fast-locking ship acting as tackler to quickly interrupt warp initiation. The results were impressive. Needless to say, these haulers didn't expect suicide gankers to tackle them; they assumed safety while manually warping from gate to gate.

Each Blockade Runner was sent a special questionnaire, which politely reminded them that they could've escaped had they used their cloaking device. Naturally, the carebears were also asked why they'd chosen not to cloak.

The vast majority of the Blockade Runners were too stubborn and vain to answer the questionnaire. Those who did respond had no choice but to grudgingly concede that they'd been bested by our Agents.

Let all the potentially cloaky haulers be on notice: The Code requires not only that you manually warp instead of autopiloting; you must also use your covops cloak just like you would outside of highsec.

Elite PvP wins again! What a wonderful lesson for the Blockade Runners to learn. I wonder, how long until the pilots of these advanced ships complain that ganking them makes new players unsubscribe from EVE?

  1. Main reason you see this happen in hisec is because BR's are immune to cargo scanning.
Which makes them targets because everybody assumes if you are using a BR the cargo must be very juicy.
So, as you can see, BR's get killed a lot more than you would think, in hisec anyway.

My god. I know we always make jokes about anti-gankers being abusive to their wives and children and that we in The New Order are proud to "take the hits so that they don't have to" but this is actual proof that we were right.

Anti-gankers really are family abusing psychopaths.

And Kalynn Shardani is dead. RIP

      Just remember:

CODE kills miners, ag kills minors.

      :)

Why do people use the phrase "passed away" instead of committed suicide? Don't they know what REALLY happened?

Well whatever it was, I'm glad she didn't kill her children.

inb4 someone cries how I don't have common decency or whatever, like my words are worse than killing your own children and committing suicide.

      Also, Link please

      And continue to do so:

Man, what's with carebears and RL death threats?

This is why EVE needs a screening process for highsec mining. We should make every highsec miner pass a test to see if they can be trusted to mine responsibly in highsec. We need to weed out the criminals.

Some of them have already proven that the RL violence is not just words. One of the leaders, and most outspoken, of the "anti-gankers" believes it's ok to harass people in RL over in game pvp. He believes it's ok to violence people in RL.

And his predecessor kalynn was such a rager he couldn't seperate RL from game and we all know how that shit ended.

And they're not the only ones. That foxbolt guy, holy shit. I saw his videos before he took all that shit down, that guy was crazy. I mean like rocking in his chair while grasping the seat all while trying to convince the world he was entitled to recieve a monthly stipend of real dollars from his corpies so he could quit his job and run his EVE corp..... Wow

You should all be afraid of highsec miners. You should be very afraid.

      That's not even the tip.

      ;)

They are not 'people' friend, they are bots. What are you, some sort of "machine hugger"?

Grow up. If some anon shitter is so weak they off themselves over comments in a video game blog, they probably did us all a favor. They most certainly helped future generations by weeding out some bad genetics. How stupid are you?

Haha thats rich coming from thomas who likes to sperg in local now about how hes NOT trying to save a freighter while fail repping it in a basilisk ag still worship shardani too! Disgusting

You need to leave your friend kalynnpiggie out of it, ehneepiggiepoo. Only agpiggies commit suicide over a game.

Links anonymous posters as proof. Hahahahahaha.

Cries about how bad code is - ignores the fact that an antiganking moderator actually did kill himself and his child.

I hope part three is when James details how highsec can save eve if we eradicate alphas and miners.

That's 'miners' you silly carebears, quit murdering children in RL. ;)

    1. O, I think it's simpler than all that; they didn't answer the questionnaire because they didn't have to. Knowing bot-aspirants, if there's no isk or other material benefit in it for them, they won't lift a finger.
