Voting Your Conscience

The vote is a powerful thing. It's the power of individual choice and the power of democracy. Perhaps it's no surprise that the New Order of Highsec is the most powerful and influential organization in EVE today, because it's also the organization that most fully embodies the spirit and power of democracy. The New Order gave highsec the vote, and highsec voted unanimously* to elect me Saviour of Highsec.

(*Includes proxy voting on behalf of those unable to cast ballots.)

Of course, all of this is contrary to the claims of the rebels and skeptics and carebears and Anti-Gankers. They've long attempted to undermine the legitimacy of our system, making wild accusations about my being unelected, a tyrant, and so on. Such claims have been absolutely debunked from top to bottom.

For further reading, I refer you to two classic, excellent MinerBumping posts on the subject:

A Perfect Election, A Perfect Democracy
How the New Order Protects Your Democracy

Highsec made the right call in voting for me--that much is obvious. Even in elections of lesser importance, it's worth considering how one should exercise one's vote. There's a lot of political strategy and theory floating around out there, but a basic principle holds: The only wasted vote is the vote one casts against one's own conscience. And that's not just true of voting; it's true of all power one exercises and every action one takes. This is why everything our Agents do is done according to their conscience.

With all this in mind, Agent Galaxy Pig went to the polls during the United States presidential election and voted his conscience. The moment was captured on video. Click to watch:

As I've said, this isn't merely limited to voting and elections. Whenever an Agent of the New Order enforces the Code against a rebellious carebear in highsec, the same truth is lived out.

For a free and democratic highsec!

  3. In a week's time, we should see the arrival of a number of potential New Order recruits, as CCP throws open the doors of our world to Alpha Clones.

We must make every effort to increase their awareness of the way things are done in Highsec (i.e. properly; according to the Code).

Some will be Republicans, and others, Democrats. We can also expect Liberals, Social Democrats, crypto-Communists, Neo-Nazis, and the rest.

Unfortunately, lamentably, we'll likely see Rebels, Skeptics, Carebears and Anti-Gankers present among them.

James 315 governs Highsec on behalf of all its residents, whatever the peculiarities of their affiliations. We are his foot soldiers, his messengers and, ultimately, his will.

The important campaign is not over; it has just begun. Obama didn't have the Code; Trump doesn't have it either. We do though, and it's our right - nay, our duty - to Make Highsec Great Again!

All hands to the pumps, Comrades!

  4. ah, clear now, James is in hisec prison and his cell no. is 315.
as he is allowed into the library he has temporary internet access to play video games. but will that donald guy pardon him?

  5. That's some great voting right there. If carebears didn't want James in charge they'dhave voted him out long ago, it's obvious they want him in their lives.

  6. I wish I could be as proud of my vote as Galaxy Pig must be.

  7. The order is weak, many high sec belts are clear and never touched. Most agents don't care about the code, and only seek profitable kills from freighters. James 315 is old and out dated, boring. I have no content from Code in any sector I roam. Maybe I'll just make a bot, I have no fear of agents. Netflix here I come.

    1. Typical carebear here for you to see folks, very courageous as he uses the anonymous function to describe his heroic actions while remaining silent on his location! Next step is he provides a rivals system and docks in terror. This is the life they choose to live. Sad, very sad...

    3. I may be a carebear, but I'm not so foolish to draw a map to myself. James cannot rule all of hi-sec if he cannot enforce his code. My turn hasn't come, and it never will, because his agents are lazy. His code is fading, which is why his agents pray for re-enforcements from the free to play.

    4. Well, folks, we had a good run. But I guess the New Order is dead now. I was going to look at our killboard to verify this information but an anonymous whiner on our blog said it, so it must be true.

    6. You mean the bear who admits he has to hide? Lol, poor little bear!

    7. Hiding? I believed no one could hide in Hi-sec from James and his agents, until I learned that outside of Uedama, you would be lucky to find just one. I can tell you one thing for certain, I'm sitting in a belt of high sec paying no attention to local. But the agent tears are beautiful, keep them coming.

  9. Galaxy Pig lives in the Oklahoma panhandle, State Senate district 37, and voted a Democrat ticket (other than Hillary).

  10. Oh, and two other things now that I've had a bit of time to look it up:

    * Write-in candidates are illegal in Oklahoma. According to Oklahoma state law, any ballot found with writing on it when handed to a poll worker will be regarded as "spoiled" and the voter will have to revote. If he doesn't revote, the voting machine will pick up on the written information, and flag the ballot as invalid.

So Galaxy Pig invalidated his vote by doing this.

    * Also, taking pictures of your ballot is also illegal in Oklahoma. So Galaxy Pig has broken Oklahoma state law by posting this Youtube video and conveniently has done so in public.
