Previously, on MinerBumping... Agent Kalorned returned home to the Derelik region only to discover a nest of non-compliant miners in the Gelhan system. With the aid of his alts, Kalorned began to bump and gank the filthy carebears. Things got serious when our hero happened upon an intel channel hosted by the Mission Ready Mining corporation.
Kalorned's alt Keraina Talie-Kuo was accidentally invited into the channel--despite being one of the gankers that the channel was buzzing about.
Kalorned was treated to a live news report announcing his every move. Our Agent decided that if Mission Ready Mining and its out-of-corp friends were going to report intel on him, he should gather some intel on them.
Kalorned was stunned to discover that Mission Ready Mining had over 2,400 members. How was it possible that a giant mining corp had kept such a low profile? To begin with, Mission Ready Mining's population only exploded at the very end of 2016. Second, its name was misleading: Mission Ready Mining wasn't really a mining corp. Focused on missions and incursion-running, the massive corp's members engaged in all sorts of activities across highsec, lowsec, nullsec, and wormhole space. Like an NPC corp, the its impact was diluted despite its large membership.
At any rate, Mission Ready Mining's mining contingent had moved into the Gelhan system. Agent Kalorned didn't approve. Though only a single Agent with a few gank alts, he was powerful enough to put a halt to their mining operations--for now.
The intel channel proved useful: Kalorned could see that he'd already crippled Mission Ready Mining's morale.
Kalorned's spy had been detected! However, there were no channel moderators online to kick him out yet.
Meanwhile, there was some chatter in Gelhan local. A highsec mercenary named Julius Maagnus was throwing his weight around. Kalorned sensed that the local mercenaries were familiar with Mission Ready Mining and its affiliates. Were they on MRM's payroll?
In a shocking twist, the highsec mercenary was simultaneously useless and arrogant.
The carebears would get no help from this mercenary. Kalorned continued to enforce the Code at will.
Our hero was contacted by a representative of MRM. "Hey, hey, Agent K! How many miners did you kill today?"
This miner didn't seem to be so bad. But Kalorned wondered how long an organization of over 2,000 members could allow him to slaughter them without resistance.
He soon got his answer. An MRM defense fleet assembled and met him in the Gelhan ice anomaly. But only one of them--a Griffin--was willing to attack Kalorned's suspect Orthrus. Our Agent won the battle while the rest of the MRM members cowered.
Time passed. Mission Ready Mining and its allies were frustrated by Kalorned's continued occupation of Gelhan, which went on with no end in sight. For now, he was able to single-handedly control the system. The MRM pilots craved revenge.
