The Minting of a New Agent, Part 2

Previously, on MinerBumping... Highsec industrialist corp Essence Distribution and Mining became the subject of a friendly wager to determine the true nature of carebears. Wendy Valentino, the alt of an anti-ganking director, was inserted into the corp while Zawaka Inazuma wardecced it. The carebear CEO, Yoshiyo Solette, flunked the test: In response to the wardec, he took the corp's Orca and abandoned everyone.
Yoshiyo Solette > You attack defenseless ships
Yoshiyo Solette > =asshole
Yoshiyo Solette > Shut the fuck up
Yoshiyo Solette > You're so fucking dumb nigger
In a private convo, Yoshiyo admitted that he simply appointed a random newbie as the new CEO before he left. He didn't care about what happened to the corp. It soon became clear that the replacement CEO didn't want to lead the corp. Luckily, someone did.

Wendy Valentino no longer identified with the anti-ganking ideology. She'd seen, with her own two eyes, the truth about carebears. Wendy persuaded the replacement CEO to hand her the corporation. She claimed it for the Code.

As the first order of business, Wendy let the entire corp know what had happened--and why.

Unlike the grasping, greedy carebear CEO who created the corp, Wendy actually cared about what happened to the corp members. She wanted them to enjoy EVE. What a concept!

Having fulfilled her objectives, Wendy declared victory and prepared to kick everyone from the corp the next day.

It didn't take long for Wendy's handiwork to become known to the general public. Tears were had. But the thread author wasn't Yoshiyo.

The corp's members were scattered to the winds, and they immediately began applying to new corporations. Many corps require API background checks, giving recruiters access to the applicant's EVEmails. One such recruiter discovered Wendy's EVEmail in the applicant's inbox. The recruiter rolled a forum alt and complained bitterly about the treatment the applicant's former corp endured at the hands of CODE.

This what your glorious code is doing, this is what your pathetic James315 is doing. Well done CCP, you have created a disgusting theme where these people exists to make people quit.

Well done
Now the good people of EVE-O had a choice. Would they join in the Code-bashing, or would they support emergent gameplay?

Interestingly, EVE players were not sympathetic to the anti-Code crusade this time. The forum alt was forced to defend her position. Then came Wendy Valentino's reply:
In truth, this infiltration was trivial. I just used these folks insecurity against them, and made them think I was the best option. The fact that it happened so fast was something of a fluke. They did exactly what I wanted, but they did it so fast I almost could not keep up. It was a fail cascade of people making decisions based on fear, and looking out for number one. They where disorganized, and not all all friends. They could not have known better because none of them collaborated.

Leadership should not be handed out like candy. Everyone can not be a leader. Most are very bad at it. It takes a selflessness, and ruthlessness that very few people have together. Most can only pull off one of those things at a time. Great leaders are few and far between, and people flock to them in droves.

You have to remember that this is a game of war. Some people die at the front lines, some people support the people on the front lines, and there are many casualties in the war. From the big nullsec alliances waging sov warfare, to the merc corps doing hisec wardecs, and even to the suicide gankers making people cry, We are all waging a war. Sometimes that means getting bloody right away, and sometimes it takes lies and manipulation to tear your enemies to shreds. The fact of the matter is that this is a war game. And people love it. All is fair in love and war.

Some people call this greifing. Some people call it a mercy killing. Personally I think of it as a fight. I just fought with my mind, instead of my guns. But then again I like to play with my food before I eat it. Different strokes for different folks.

peace
-Wendy
In a stunning turn of events, EVE-O voiced its approval. And this wasn't in the Crime & Punishment subforum, either!

Even self-identified highsec carebear CSM member Mike Azariah sided with the New Order on this one. The times, they are a-changin'.
Zawaka Inazuma > o/
Wendy Valentino > 0/
Yoshiyo Solette > So, I knew you were a spy in Assiettes.
Yoshiyo Solette > Why do y'all do it?
Zawaka and Wendy managed to catch up with Yoshiyo. He claimed to have known Wendy was a spy all along. He only wanted to know why. Could the greedy carebear be persuaded to get in on the New Order's cultural victory too?

To be continued...

    1. Remember, you wouldn't be the first one to declare the task you set out to do impossible and switch sides.

I'd almost go so far as to say it's the only way you can win, because attempting to herd carebears into something that can defend themselves is kind of like trying to build a music stage using nothing more than pizza dough and water.

So, A question about PoopAnon, who is the lovable Anon you see here in the comments, making desperate attacks on the New Order without regard as to how it comes across to the, well, more civilized members of EVE Online. This is the anon that attempts to impersonate New Order Agents, but does such a bad job of it that all we do is laugh at it.

Do you disavow its obvious and clearly laughable attempts to slander the New Order with foul and decrepit language? Do you agree with us that there are some common standards of human decency that, once crossed, can make even the carebears (whom you claim to represent,) evil? And sometimes, maybe, could they even more evil than the New Order?

Or do you support the miner and its over-the-top attacks, and blame the New Order for "forcing the miner to act this way?" Do you believe that we are responsible for the actions of this, for lack of a better word, pedophile?

Do you remember that time you got so mad at me you called me variations of "mingelingdingdong" for like a month straight because like one person laughed like one time? And then do you remember how hard you tried to make it happen again? Like I believe by the time you quit doing it you were like "mingelingdongdonkeyfuckingassholechildraper" or something similar.

I just wanted to know that I won that argument, too.

      Love,

    5. @ Ming Tso 12.15 I would agree that there should be common standards within the game as a whole. Swearing and screaming at people because space pixels do not do what you want is ludicrous, I say this because not so long back I was attacked by circadian seekers. I warped off to the nearest belt shortly followed by said craft who kept on trying to attack me, in the belt was an orca and a couple of macs with drones out. I wondered if the drones would attack said seekers so i moved nearer to the miners, when a full tirade of abuse came my way.
All because I was trying to figure out how the mechanics had changed with the Seekers, I genuinely could not understand what I had done to upset them so much. I was even threatened that I was going to be reported to CCP for griefing???? So yes some sort of universal standard should be implemented, there are also quite a few people that play Eve who find it hard to find and join the bigger groups that exist within the game as whole. As for Concord in our honest opinion it should be moth balled, the biggest mistake most high players make is that Concord has our back. When in fact Concord is purely reactionary and really serves no purpose.

You know, we don't just persecute carebears just because we're dicks or looking for tears. Highsec Carebears really, actually are a danger to PvP activity in this game.

Their mindset, as you have seen sometimes, is unmitigatedly one-sided, closed-off, and hostile. Remember that the Code isn't necessarily about condemning isk-making, as it declares that all residents of low and nullsec are automatically Code-Compliant. It is about encouraging players to embrace the risk vs. reward mechanics in this game to actually empower themselves to actually get what it is they want, instead of wasting so much time dreaming about what they want and suffering through the most boring activity imaginable in order to get it.

The New Order doesn't tolerate mechanics based on boredom, because that's what corrupts good, otherwise happy souls. We want players. Not "bot-aspirants."

Eve Online is a game of big risks and big payoffs. Any serious player has no problem cashing in a PLEX for money and using it to buy whatever ships they need to be able to fly a nullsec fleet doctrine, or can figure out how to join a nullsec alliance so that they can rat for money to play. In doing so they gain a social network, which is the fourth resource needed to succeed in this game, apart from isk, skillpoints, and flight time.

It is only the Highsec Carebear who thinks that it knows what it wants and thinks that mining is how to get it. This "hardened shell" of ignorance and denial not only denies the carebear what it wants, also denies it the resources it needs to succeed, and forces it to wallow through an existence that is pretty lonely and full of greedy people that have no problem taking advantage of it. (Highsec mining corp CEOs.) Think about all those poor forum communities based around BitCoin.

We don't want that. But that's what Highsec Mining does to people.

This veil can only be pierced by the lessons that the New Order provides- the consequences for willfully choosing the path of least resistance- and the least rewards. It can only be pierced by realizing that 10 million isk really isn't a lot of isk- which is the point of the permit. It teaches that isk is a really poor goal or motivator in this game- and that there are so many other, worthy goals that this game has that are worth pursuing. It is the goal of the New Order to help them discover these goals.

We're not kidding when we say that it's our job to save these miners. CCP isn't kidding when they say that ganked players stay with the game longer.
I would direct you to some recordings by James 315 that would make the case, but I'm not going to just rudely thrust them at you, like some religious fanatic.

But I will tell you, James's Manifesto #2 is there for your perusal, and in them, is an honest account of why we have to fight the carebears. Because without people that do what the New Order is doing, we would all suffer.

    10. James' Manefesto #2 is a good read. If you want to understand CODE, it contains a wealth of answers, and James isn't in his savior persona. If you're a carebear who isn't here just to troll, you really should learn why we're being targeted, and how you can protect yourself by not being something they hate to see in their game.

    5. Was this necessary? Rhalina Sedai doesn't deserve to be cloned, she just doesn't quite understand how bad the carebear threat to EVE is. We, in the New Order, can open her eyes to the threat that the carebear causes to every EVE Online player, whether they live in Highsec, Lowsec, or Nullsec.

    6. @ anon 1.37. Your infantile attempt to imitate myself comes up seriously short, we do not follow nascar, we would not be under the directorate of information. As a press officer, and in a time of war we are subject to a Defence Advisory Notices or D notice for short. Also we would be under the Directorate of Airstaff, not the Directorate of Information. As for ministry of the communicative affairs that would be under the MIC (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications) Depending on which country you come from. So if you are going to pretend to be me, please get the details correct. Its all in the detail.
