CCP Chooses the CSM8 Summer Delegates

In case you hadn't heard, CCP has announced its choices for the CSM8 summer summit attendees. The delegates will be flown to Iceland to participate in a series of face-to-face meetings with the CCP devs and take part in other festivities. The remaining members of the CSM will be able to participate in portions of the event via Skype. In the past, the top 7 vote-getters in the CSM8 election would attend the summit(s). That made sense, given the fact that the entire point of the CSM is for the voters to get a say.

The policy changed, with only the top two vote-getters earning "permanent seats". Rather than having the voters determine the summit attendees, the remainder were hand-picked, unilaterally, by CCP Dolan. I have frequently been critical of Dolan. He's been the subject of frequent controversy, because he's not very good at things.

The following CSM8 members will attend the summer summit, which takes place in late August. mynnna and Ripard Teg, the top two vote-getters in the CSM8 election, have "permanent seats". Dolan's choices were as follows...

Attendees chosen by Dolan who also received enough votes to have made the "top 7" regardless:

- Ali Aras

Attendees who didn't make the "top 7" but will attend because Dolan chose them:

- James Arget
- Korvin
- Mike Azariah
- Trebor Daehdoow

CSM8 members who made the "top 7" but were excluded from the summit by Dolan:

- Kesper North
- Mangala Solaris
- progodlegend
- Sort Dragon

Take that as you will.

yet another CSM troll post by someone still producing tears from the 2012 alliance panel / mittani-gate. Who would have known that James's own would be the greatest source of tears on minerbumping.com
