Dude, Where's Your Bio?

Given my stature in the EVE community, it's only natural to expect that I would have an awesome bio. Indeed I did, but not at present:

I am currently bioless. This may have led some to wonder what was going on. No doubt there will be a certain amount of speculation inspired by the absence of my bio. I can only provide two pieces of information at this time. First of all, I can assure you that the New Order of Highsec is in perfect working order. Second, I can tell you that I was not the person responsible for the deletion of my precious bio--it was done by CCP.

Two days ago, I received an EVEmail from GM The Doctor informing me that he had deleted my bio, for reasons which are not totally clear. I thought this was kind of a weird thing for him to do, so I immediately responded by filing a petition. I haven't gotten a reply yet. Presumably this matter is absorbing the best and brightest minds that CCP has to offer.

If this development causes you any anxiety, please don't worry. I'm confident that there will be a satisfactory resolution to all of this. In the meantime, go about your business. Go shopping. Gank and bump miners throughout highsec. Live your lives the way they were meant to be lived. The New Order is the greatest power in highsec, and we will always prevail.

  1. Could you paste your bio here so we can all wear it below our own bios in a show of solidarity?

  6. So listing your in-game accomplishments and describing the way you rule Highsec is enough to get CCP involved?

To any CCP personnel reading this. You are in very real danger of being the subject of a good dose of "Real Talk." I would terminate CCP The Doctor forthwith and publically apologize to James 315 for this outrage.

  7. There is only one solution to this outrage! We must gank more ships! What CCP is trying to tell us is that we are not doing enough. Perhaps if we DOUBLE the isk damage in a month, CCP will rightfully honor James as the true leader of highsec.

Yeah the only thing wrong in eve it's James's bio. Maybe next time better to try something like aesopian language and post here the results.

Why doesn't James 315 just keep replacing the bio when ccp remove it?

  12. CCP The Doctor, you bring shame to the name of The Doctor.

Now because of you we're also going to have yet another secret hidden regeneration to deal with in a few seasons.

I hope you are happy sir.

I would be embarrassed if I were you.

  13. I find my posts against miners, in favor of suicide ganking and in favor of the "New Order" tend to get moderated more heavily than those that do not. I think you may have stumbled on some necessary investigative journalism James. I hope you pursue this.

  14. This is interesting. I had my bio deleted some time ago, but without any explanation as to why. I thought it was just a game glitch and ignored it, I had no idea that CCP could remove your bio without giving at least some sort of notice or explanation.

When I update my bio, how am I going to know if I'm not repeating the same mistake that caused my original bio to be summarily deleted?

I need a space lawyer, does anybody have Babatunde's number?

  15. I have a good idea what CCP's reply will be...nothing whatsoever and if you are lucky a reply saying what James did wrong.

Its CCP's game. If they want to delete your bio cause it broke a rule, they don't have to tell you jack shit, James.

The GM would have gone to CCP before getting permission to delete James bio. You guys don't like it? Tough shit. Go and play another game instead like Planetside 2 or League of Legends.

CCP own EVE Online, not the players no matter what their inflated ego makes them think and definately not you guys.

My advice is to stop complaining cause if, in some fluke you are right and CCP is pursuing a covert effort to censor the New order then complaining will result in the ban hammer...on second thoughts complain all you want in the forums.

I'd love to see you guys banned, even if its unlikely.

On a related note, I remember skimming over James bio as well as reading an older post either here or on the forums where a agent was warned he couldn't force players to alter their bio.

Maybe James bio was taken as telling other players that they must change their bios (and as such targatable for deletion)? As said this is just a theory as I cannot remember the exact words of the bio.

As for anyone wondering why CCP would do this after apparently pledging support for the New order by saying its legal...read that post again. While they say its legal, they also say they don't approve of the practise nor condone it. In leymans terms, they don't like you.

    1. CCP likes every kind of emergent gameplay. That's the reason they make their game. to see what the players can do with it. They were very excited when Goonswarm announced the Burn Jita event. To say that CCP doesn't "like" the New Order is naive at best. I bet they're proud to have made a game that enables players to do things like this.

    2. Well, if that was correct...ehy did they have GM The Doctor delete that bio?

James must have done something wrong and as I said they don't have to say why cause its their game.

Also, don't hide behind anon. At least I post as my char name

    3. was my post offending to you? I didn't say anything about the bio. What about sticking to the topic instead of pointing at the importance of a fake internet name? I don't have an EVE character anyway, I'm not playing the game. I just pointed out that CCP is all about emergent gameplay and that they likely look at the NO with interest. I don't care about the bio.

    4. Look at that...the one with a "name" is insulting and being an ass, the Anon is trying to discuss civilly.

Sperging insult and failing again to stick to the topic is not a good way to raise your point. Try being a worthy person to discuss with before commenting on a blog, at the moment you're just insulting behind your monitor. And they say the New Order guys are the bad ones...

    5. Ok. anonymous. I'll say again. Where, in my original post, did I say I found your posts insulting?

I was talking about the post, saying that CCP doesn't have to react or do anything about the complaints about James 315's bio deletion. Its not a ban hammer offense as a: he is still online and b: its just a bio and as has been proven, can be deleted at the touch of a keyboard.

Many people here were no doubt angry at CCP, one poster calling for CCP to immediately sack GM The Doctor so I pointed out why CCP might have done it as well as why any complaint we throw up short of a official independant petition that is signed by multiple people (I believe many petitions need in excess of 500-1000 signatures before it is delivered to the target of the petition and requires and answer) which won't happen given that many people don't like the New order (I don't honestly care either way as I'm a PVP'er on my alt and this chars just a random WH scanner alt for use during our wars).

CCP own EVE Online and its their game. James clearly broke a rule over the Bio and it was removed. Most likely, petitioning for why it occured will be met with silence or, if he is lucky, why it was deleted. Complaining about it wither here or in-game won't make CCP reverse their decision.

    6. James clearly broke a rule, we're still aching in anticipation to find out what that is.

  16. Your bio was secretly working with the Cybermen, betraying you for the true bot aspirants. So the Doctor had to step in, and your bio got lost in timey-wimey space ball shenanigans. :P
