Meet Cody Fayden. He's a casual gamer with little patience for multiplayer interaction and PvP. Somehow, he made his way to EVE and thought it was a great fit for his style of play. After more than four years in the game, he made first contact with the New Order this April when Agent Ilithyia Borgia ganked his 404 million isk Hulk.
Don'tShoot ImBlue > Cody Fayden bought 6 ore strip miners off me. I don't have the time to hunt him down, so you guys can have at him if you wantCody didn't learn his lesson. Indeed, his taste for expensive mining equipment only grew when he was forced to replace the Hulk. Luckily, the emergent gameplay community is well organized. Don'tShoot ImBlue of the Belligerent Undesirables broadcast the news that a "problem miner" was in the making.
Lament von Gankenheim > sounds great
Don'tShoot ImBlue > o7
Agent Nicolas Dupre took it upon himself to become the carebear's sponsor. No matter how many relapses Cody suffered, Nicolas would keep him accountable. He would cure Cody of bot-aspirancy.
Within two days, our hero located Cody and caught him in the act of illegal mining. Nicolas spared no expense. Cody, despite being a 4-year player, was shamefully mining ore in a 0.9 security system. The only way to gank Cody was to use a Talos. But it was well worth it; Cody's decadent 862 million isk Mackinaw was terminated.
Thanks to Don'tShoot ImBlue's intel, Nicolas knew that Cody still had a few more ORE Strip Miners in his possession. Sure enough, Cody was up to his old tricks the very next day. Nicolas lacked the firepower to suicide gank Cody this time, so he sent an alt, I Feel Sick, to submit a blank application to join Corporationen sind nicht so mein Ding ("Corporations aren't really my thing").
He was accepted immediately.
Channel changed to Corp : Corporationen sind nicht so mein DingNicolas' alt tackled the carebear's new Mackinaw. Under the circumstances, he felt the miner did not deserve the opportunity to pay a ransom.
Cody Fayden > hi
Cody Fayden > ah fuck ... ich habs mir gedacht
I Feel Sick > Ja :P
I Feel Sick > Haben Sie kein Englisch sprechen?
Cody Fayden > i can try
I Feel Sick > fI was considering holding you for ransom but decided not to :)
What about the nerf to awoxing, though? When Cody accepted I Feel Sick's membership application, he set friendly fire to illegal. However, in the quest to make highsec safer, CCP put a mandatory 24-hour timer on any changes to the friendly fire settings. This was meant to prevent reverse-awoxing. The awox of Cody's 929 million isk Mackinaw occurred during the 24-hour period.
Cody Fayden > ahaTreachery! While friendly fire was still legal, Cody decided to strike back at the young awox alt. Cody undocked a Tengu and tackled his corpmate. (Per Google Translate, "ey such whores without".)
Cody Fayden > ey solche hurensohne
I Feel Sick was no match for the Tengu. His tank couldn't hold, not even with the support of Nicolas Dupre's remote-repping Augoror. However, Cody wanted revenge on Nicolas, too, and he aimed to destroy the neutral Augoror before finishing off his corpmate. Because Nicolas had ganked Cody's Mackinaw the day before, Cody had a kill right on him. The Tengu opened fire.
...without actually activating the kill right. CONCORD immediately stepped in and assisted our Agents in enforcing the Code. Cody's Tengu was destroyed; I Feel Sick and Nicolas Dupre were victorious. The Code always wins.
It was another punishing loss for the carebear. Cody's Tengu was worth 1.3 billion isk.
I Feel Sick > Nearly didn't make it in time :)Cody witnessed the power of the Code firsthand. The futility of expensive ships and modules had been displayed for all to see. There was no use in resisting the New Order. Would Cody comply, or would he need to suffer even more excruciating losses?
Cody Fayden > yeah ganker... go and fuck your mom
I Feel Sick > You're the one who ganked just now ;)
I Feel Sick > You went criminal with your tengu :)
Cody Fayden > yeah sure ... you against a miner ... uhhhh you are soo hard
To be continued...
