Awoxing Goes Mainstream, Part 1

Previously, I've posted about some of Agent Riku Klayton's awoxing operations, in which he joined highsec mining corps to kill the miners.

Earlier, the sybian infiltrated the corp of noted rebel loudmouth Kharmha.

Within five minutes, the sybian's alt--having for some reason being given immediate access to everything in the corp--switched from "innocent miner" to "dispenser of justice" mode.

Since the post about Riku Klayton's adventures, miners across highsec have contacted me, hoping to learn more about awoxing.

As Father of the New Order, one of the hats I wear is Chief Educator of New Eden. Of course I want to help people learn more about EVE, especially the new players.

Awoxing is as simple as one, two, three. Find a highsec mining corp that's aggressively recruiting, join it, and crash their next mining op with a combat ship.

In time, perhaps we can help advance the awox-to-genuine ratio throughout highsec?

Agent Wescro, whose Knight alt Wescro2 frequently kills miners in the name of the Code, is well known. Pictured above is a partial screencap of his employment history. You wouldn't think a highsec mining corp would recruit someone like Wescro. But then, you would be underestimating the desperation some corps have for new members. Out of nowhere, Wescro announced he was in the middle of an awox. He asked New Order Agents for their advice.

Wescro had brought his Raven to the corp mining op. To provide security, he said. True enough, but the carebears didn't realize that they were the ones highsec needed to be protected from!

Though the Orca was packing Warp Core Stabilizers, Wescro had enough points on the target to tackle him. He politely requested a ransom from his corpmate.

Pretending not to have money to pay ransom is a common practice among miners. And they say pirates are dishonourable? In any case, Wescro's corpmates were not followers of the Code. After careful consideration, and in light of the seriousness of their crime, the death sentence was recommended.

A rescue attempt failed. The Orca died. 'Tis the fate of all mining vessels piloted by Code violators.

More than a billion isk went down the drain. This was not griefing. This was not vengeance. This was justice.

In his arrogance, the Orca pilot had a Hulk and a Taranis in the ship maintenance bay. No more.

In fact, though Wescro had just joined the corp, he had been entrusted with a position of authority. Apparently very small mining corps offer roles sometimes, to encourage people to join.

The corp's CEO, Rexar Enderas, was not happy with Wescro's decision to kill corp members instead of helping them mine. He contacted Wescro to tell him his services would no longer be needed. Things were about to get real.

To be continued...

  3. And this, children, is why we do background checks and don't let new corpies access to any roles.

  4. It's so sad how some people waste their short and precious lifes for just a game.

Maybe afk-miners are bad persons in EVE but they are the winners about their real lives.

Don't throw away your life and start playing AFK. Your girlfriend and some moms will appreciate it.

    1. If this game is so unfun that you have to be AFK, then why play?

    2. I'm playing afk just to annoy you.

    3. ^ that's not true. Only gankers annoy other player.

I play afk to get some money while enjoying other, more pleasing activities. I don't want go deeper into the details on this point but everywhere it's boring without money. Even in New Eden.

After a pleasing day I can use my hard earned money to buy some ships and gank other miners. Just for fun.

You see, I as an afk miner have optimized the level of fun an EVE player can have. Something I think you guys obviously can't understand and that's why you hate afk player.

The New Order believers hate lucky peoples. You can read that in the posts of James.

There are enough entries where players left or betrayed a corp, just because they didn't understand the joy of being afk.

      Sincerely

    4. You could be even more joyously AFK by not logging in. Just sayin'.

Oh, and being AFK does not annoy me.

      I enjoy my work.

    5. You can be AFK mine if you want. However if you are AFK mining you do NOT have the right to bitch/complain/petition/cry when you are ganked/bumped for doing so.

    6. perhaps there are other elements of the game that are fun but earn no isk?

  5. In my most recent corp, I didn't even get around to awoxing - two other corpmates got started before me! I just ate popcorn and read chat.

  6. Nice, Wes! Give us a little notice next time - we'd happily give remote reps/sebo or join and shoot. :)

  7. Found this interesting, it is the miners manifesto
Your freedom of play and liberty to enjoy is under attack by individuals claiming you to be “entitled brats,” demanding more protection, more security. But I ask this. Is a man or woman not entitled to the sweat of their brow? Whether the gains be obtained with difficulty or ease?

No, say the bitter vet. You must risk more to “deserve” it.

No, say the bumper. “Bot-aspirants” deserve nothing.

No, say the pirate. It belongs to me.

I say it belongs to you. Whether you afk-mine, mission, build, trade, your way of life is now under attack by those who would strip you of your gameplay in favor to feed their craving for blood and uniformity in a game where many with real-world obligations play to unwind. They seek the absolute destruction of the casual gamer and their play style under the guise of “preserving Eve” through a culling. Read on my comrade, my fellow Proveldtariat, and I will tell you why we must fight, why they fight us, and what you can do right now to preserve the liberty of play you so justly deserve.
Note, i life in null, i mine in null, i rat in null, i fight in null. But as the case is highsec plays a role in all that i do. I have to say both sides have a valid point in this argument. I am not sure who to support, if i support james prices will go up, meaning minerals are worth more meaning i will make more money, but as we are beginning to see miners are entering low & even null to get away, some of them with a heavily armed escort. Although this inst a problem it is still an annoyance. If i support the miners ship prices will stay low so i can get ships cheaper. But this also means that i will make less money from minarals, again not a big problem. their are benifits and drawbacks for each side. I am not sure which one i will support.

    2. I wonder if he is OK with hobos in retrievers invading his supposed sov space to mine his roids?

We expect miners in highsec to pay for their mining right by buying a Code permit. This is entirely reasonable for as long as we hold defacto sov in highsec.

      Delete
    3. Defacto is the key word in your repost. I have been to some of the systems that you have been to the past, they are almost back to the way they used to be. The word defacto means for all intents and purposes, and those intents and purposes are the most important parts. But for some reason the intents have been surprisingly lacking. the thing i am trying to say here is that holding sov in highsec is difficult, because their is no way you can completely control the system, and your alliance does not have enough manpower as of now to control all the parts you claim to in a way a normal allince does. You can come in, you can collect taxes and you can leave but that is not an equivilant to sovrenity, that is why the miners resist you. as of now you can not control that sytem and blow up anyone who does not agree with you the moment they enter, when you can you will have sov, when you can resitance will be futile, but until then it is still anyone's game. You may think i am wrong, i may be wrong. but everyone is entilited to their opinion and this is mine.

    4. Anonymous@2:34PM:

You're over-complicating things. We don't need "complete control" of the system, and we don't need overwhelming manpower. Our actions define the extent of our sovereignty - we require a valid Mining Permit, and if a miner attempts to mine without one, we will stop him at our leisure. This is our law, and this is the extent of our sovereignty, as evidenced by our actions every day, and it is all that is needed.

Rebels who disagree are free to attempt to stop us, yet not a single one has succeeded so far.

    5. just the awnser i was looking for, just the reply i was looking for. Feel free to keep destroying at your lesuire. Also the rebels dispute your last sentence. And i am not saying you need overwhelming manpower, i am saying you need enough, i am not saying you need complete control. complete control is impossible, their are always variables that you cant factor in or predict. It may be your law but it is not constant. You have the power to enforce but you can not enforce it completly. All i am going to say is you are close to realizing your goal, but you are vulnerable. And not in the way you think. The most dangerous time in seizing power is when you are closest to consalidating it. at this moment one slip up can prove fatal. I hope you do not slip up, i look forward to seeing what will be made if you succeed, Good luck

    6. Concord cannot enforce their law completely either. I'm failing to see the difference between "enforcing our law but not completely". Slightly contradictory there sir.

  8. All i can say is having read all your recent posts and your "code" its all just a bunch of Useless drivel, you guys are as bad as the Islamic radicals IRL. what makes it worse is that you all seem to be taking a much more active view of the game and i wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't see the dividing line between reality and Fiction. I feel sorry for you and your lives that you bunch are such close-minded and cut off individuals who think that living is only possible by playing a game and then "punishing" those who don't agree with you. I for awhile harbored an idea to infiltrate your organisation and wreak havoc among you. I passed that by because after reading more into this the idea that intrigued me became no longer fun. However I think i found something to rekindle that feeling of enjoyment to wreak havoc on your organisation. And the best part of it? i wont even have to try you all just make it to easy to become a "trusted" member of your organisation.

Its why i'm posting this now because i want you to know i'm coming, and that i'm already in place. Now you get to try to figure out where its going to be coming from.

Have fun with that. Oh and this isn't a threat or Bullshitting/Bluffing I've been in your ranks for awhile now, and have just come to the point where my preparations are complete. Im coming for you, I have found you, and i will cause you an untold amount of havoc. I hope you enjoy the next couple of weeks

    2. Sun Tzu's work assumes that you really have a plan.

Unless generating tears in game and online is a threat, we have little to worry about.

There are no organizational assets in the New Order to Awox. At most, he might disrupt one gank by shooting at another gank Catalyst, or by shouting a warning.

And you will note that he takes his "Taliban" name calling here. When he tried it in the Eve Online forums, the moderators locked him down immediately.

    3. i know that mans plan was small, but it is amazing how much damage, rather confusion, one small strike can do, unless you keep a level, somthing that i am guessing you guys wil be able to do. But who knows, i have been wrong before...

Its a fucking internet spaceship game and it isn't as if EVE's reputation is a big secret; you sound like someone playing Battlefield 3 complaining that they got 'shot'.

    7. Oh great, you think you can awox us. Assuming you are not just woofing, good for you.! You are playing the game! Another rebel half in our camp.

But I am afraid awoxing is not going to get you much. News: any ganker is welcome to join the New Order. To get in all you have to do is suicide on a miner. "Awox"ing us would be almost trivial. But since we have nothing to steal and we have no trusted roles, there is nothing you can do but break up one gank. So it's not much of an awox. You might interrupt our actions for about 10 minutes. Then we remove you from gankfleet and get back to killing rebels.

Actually we do have one trusted role: Supreme Protector of Highsec. Perhaps you can become James.

  9. The person who accuses New Order members of not being able to distinguish between reality and fiction is the person comparing the New Order to "Islamic Militants IRL". Hilarious.
