The New Order Saves Another Miner

Convo requests from people with "Miner" in their name are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. Was this gentleman going to notify me about 10 million isk inbound for my wallet? Or would he have some baseless complaint about the way I do business?

Ah. Miner Daveed was curious about the reason for his death. I kill a lot of people, but I remembered this guy's name from earlier in the day. Seems he finally returned to his keyboard.

Daveed pleaded ignorance. Protip for miners: If you want to get on my good side, don't pretend you weren't violating the Code. Instead, confess and apologize. I like people who are truthful with me, and if you're a highsec miner, that means starting the conversation by admitting your shortcomings.

Despite the fact that MinerBumping is among the top two or three EVE blogs in terms of daily traffic, Daveed claimed he had never heard of the New Order before. Then the situation got sticky: He also suggested he was a brand new player, and that he simply never had the opportunity to hear about us.

Was this the realization of everyone's greatest fear? Was Miner Daveed the mythical "innocent noobie gank victim" come to life?

Daveed was heartbroken. He had only been playing EVE for two days, and now he was going to have to quit because of mistreatment by the New Order. At long last, all those anti-PvP carebears who say we need to make highsec safer for the noobies had their poster child.

I invited Daveed to put aside his career and join the New Order. But he said something suspicious. He was flying a Hulk? And he put in time to save up for it? How does a noobie save up for a Hulk in two days, let alone fly it?

I invited some of my gank fleet members to join the private convo and help me convince Daveed to stay. Maybe if he experienced the New Order family firsthand, he would see there's more to EVE than solo mining.

It was an uphill battle. Daveed repeated his supposed ignorance of the Code, despite the fact that everyone who mines in my space (0.5+ security) is deemed to be fully aware of its contents, and to have agreed to it. Just like if you go to a country, you must follow their laws.

The other shoe dropped, as it always does. Miner Daveed was, in fact, a 2007 character. He has been playing for more than five years, though he's taken long breaks during that period. Funny, but it happens this way every time. The "innocent noobies" who get ganked are never actually new to the game.

The fleet shared their stories and encouraged Daveed to have some fun in the game. But doing anything other than AFK mining by himself in a Hulk was "too serious". Only AFK mining is fun.

Daveed was struck by how much highsec had changed since he last mined. I often promise that if the people of highsec just give the New Order a few years, they won't even recognize highsec anymore.

Daveed departed. Yet it was a victory to the New Order, for we saved him--from his ignorance. He now knows more about EVE and the new regime controlling highsec than he did before. And a day in which you learn something important is a day that didn't go to waste. AFK mining by yourself for five years is wasteful. You'll get far more out of a five-minute encounter with the New Order family.

  1. Miner Daveed has his eyes opened.

It is amazing how little some players know about what is happening in EvE, even after five years of play.

    1. I've been playing for two years, been mining the whole time. I read blogs, and I only heard about "The New Order" yesterday...they can't be that big of a deal I guess. Certainly not as famous as you think.

And btw, when I mine, I'm at the keyboard, and certainly not because of the so-called "New Order"...lol

  2. Agreed. I've only been playing EVE seriously for two months but heard about the New Order gankers a month or so ago.

Miners can complain all they want. If they are stupid or lazy enough to be AFK then they will lose their ship. Either to New Order or some other random pirate corp. Best thing about New Order is that you guys advertise your area of ops to the public. I've made 140 mill following you guys around and scavenging your leftovers. Death is beautiful and profitable!

  3. I just don't understand one thing - hi-sec is...well, a big place - there is PLENTY of systems with more than one ice field. So why the hell miners just, i don't know, move perhaps 10-15 jups away from New Order ''conTrolled'' territory and then mine in an afk pleasure orgy all day? :P It is a bit tricky to move with negative sec status along the hi-sec - miners with their +5.0 have no problems at all.

    1. Some of them have tried that. They have three problems:
1 - They are lazy, and only move the minimum distance to get away from the New Order.
2 - The New Order moves and meets them again.
3 - The New Order is growing. No high sec system will be be without its caring touch forever.

  4. James i want to personaly thank you, you are making our alliance billions. you see a couple of days ago we had an idea, we went into one of the belts you had claimed (than left) and posted a simple advertisement. Join ***** sov space where you can mine in peace, better than being blown up in highsec. After that it took a couple hours but we got around 20-ish applications, we have repeated a couple more times and gained even more. the tax proceededs from these minors is pure gold i tell you. thank you for providing us with this cash influx

    2. CCP should let James rent a billboard in space....and put awesome posts like this on them.
too bad it was posted as anonymous, id like to think that someone this thankful could put his name on it.

    3. Which is exactly the point of the New Order my friend :)

Make people play together, join alliances, and not be AFK. What you're doing IS what we want you to do, and the whole point of the Order.

      Cheers.

  5. I got your stupid permit, had the damn message in my BIO, was not AFK (chatted to some Bill asshole, and was in the local chat, but no one cared), and i was ganked. I can understand a bit of blackmail, but this is a new low for you guys. As of today i have relocated to areas where scammers like you won't be able to do shit. A MESSAGE TO ALL MINERS! DON'T BUY THE PERMIT, IT DOESN'T DO SHIT. YOU'LL STILL GET GANKED.
Another thing this so called Code does not tell you (in fact actually misinforms you about) is the fact that you have to pay 10 mil TO EVERY AGENT EACH TIME THEY ASK, not a single time payment to James once per year. I honestly believed in the Code, and was willing to abide by it, but sadly the New Order has no honour, and can't even uphold their own Code, yet alone police the High Sec areas.

  6. Payment is due once a year. If an agent (and not just some random dude) ganked you under the circumstances described above, you should document the incindent and kindly ask another agent, or the SAVIOUR himself, to reimburse your loss. What you shouldn't do is to talk smack on your SUPREME PROTECTOR's blog. Remember, as a miner you have to behave yourself - you are not entitled to that kind of tone. How should anyone believe that you were compliant then, when we all can see your contempt for the code so clearly now? How can we not think that you aren't just a rebel miner with a clever idea spilling propaganda and telling lies.

Read the Code! Study it! You, Sir, still have a long way to go to achieve compliance and the state of bliss and harmony that accompanies that sacred state! We all hope you get better soon!

  7. The SUPREME PROTECTOR should prevent these things from happening, he is the Saviour after all, and he is all knowing and all powerfull. I believed in his vision of High Sec, did my part, and all i got in return were lies. I documented and contacted a genuine agent, and all i got was the copy/paste answer of "You have to buy the permit... see minerbumping.com...". No one even bothered to actually read the message, look at my bio to see the pledge there, and so forth.
I understand that as i miner i have to behave myself, but i also expect the Code to be enforced in New Order space. Not selectively enforced, as it seems to be the case lately. I have tried all official paths to clear this up, and was just met by very bot-like replies from the very agents that claim to be anti-bot. Perhaps it is time the Saviour takes a closer look at how his Agents operate.
I'm sorry, but it's time for me to move on. Best of luck to your enterprise in the future.

    1. Still no specifics. No names, no places, no screenshots. You also demonstrate a saddening lack of understanding for the code. The SUPREME PROTECTOR protects you against the soul numbing effects of afk-ing, bot-aspirancy and lack of interaction ... not against suicide gankers on the lookout for fun. Where is your respect and admiration for gankers required by the code? Did you even congratulate the ganker in local for the good fight before you made accusations and demands?

Btw: My rebel sense is still tingling.

  9. So, this blog has inspired me to the following idea and I would like your SUPREME input:

I noticed how you proudly note that you are made invincible mostly through the rules of hisec. If I take my mining fleet out to an ice field and use a trial account to shoot a ship to spawn Concord, my fleet will become as invincible as you (although all the other miners in the vicinty will also). Concord will hang around all day. If I see Concord leave, I will know an attack is imminent. I can dock up or just send my trial rookie back out to respawn Concord. CCP ruled that your bumping and ganking are not petitionable, and spawning Concord is also not petitionable AS LONG AS I DON'T DELETE the rookie pilot to avoid negative sec status.

Maybe you can even suggest this to your paying miners. Concord won't protect miners from bumping. They could pay your fee to avoid bumping and you could tell them how to spawn Concord daily to avoid the ganks. It would have protected this guy. What does the New Order think of this?

    ReplyDelete

    1. If you are monitoring Concord and predicting a gank by noticing them leave, you are not AFK and thus the New Order has another minor victory towards complete compliance across Hisec.

Additionally, the adaptive nature of non-bot-aspirant agents means that the New Order is more than capable of destroying barges under the watchful eye of concord through the use of alpha strike thrashers or similar.

  10. I think NO should seek a new field that is very lucrative for the code by afflict the null space where the Russians are. The area there is full of bots! Question is to be paid only if the Russians are already. You can be sensitive if they interfere in your business ......

  11. You people are disgusting. People have the right to play Eve their own way without being griefed. Soon they'll change the rules against harassing people in highsec and you'll be banned, lol.

    1. CCP says we aren't griefing. That ruling came out yesterday. Join us and experience real freedom in Eve.
