Free Drones, Expensive Tears

Some assets, such as ships and Mobile Tractor Units, are displayed on killboards when they're ganked.

Other assets, such as 'Augmented' Mining Drones, do not appear on killboards when ganked directly. Yet these blingy drones cost 50 million each, and they are very cheaply ganked due to their low HP.

Tragaldabas Abandon lost 100 million isk to one of the countless ganks of blingy drones that occur in highsec. Tragaldabas was in good company; those who use blingy drones attract a lot of attention. In fact, the miner was lucky that he wasn't caught using a full set of the drones, which would have cost him a quarter billion isk.

Agent Alleil Pollard considered the miner and wondered aloud about his isk/hour dilemma. The defiant anti-Code miner went silent.

Other miners in the system were disturbed by the incident. They knew that they, too, were economically prohibited from ever using blingy drones in a profitable way. If they tried to use them, gankers would show up and set the miners back days, weeks--or months!

As with so many others like him, Tragaldabas was deeply ashamed of being a highsec miner. He made a brief show of being a wormholer.

Alas, self-proclaimed wormhole players get little respect from our Agents. If we catch you mining in highsec, we know exactly what you are.

The miner tried to engage in smacktalk, but he quickly gave up. It was pointless, just like his unprofitable mining.

Agent Alleil returned to the subject that had made the miner so uncomfortable. Tragaldabas winced. Deep down, he knew that his choices could not bear scrutiny.

Nothing about the highsec-bound wormholer's story made sense. Alleil exposed him as a fraud.

Agents of the New Order are known for shining the light of truth. The light is harsh and powerful. Miners scatter.

Tragaldabas retreated into the darkness of his own ignorance. If only he allowed the ganker to rescue him from his misery.

The Best Revenge, Part 19

Previously, on MinerBumping... Basically, this old "Far Side" cartoon:

aiva naali was given strategic command of the Imperium. He wouldn't let the opportunity go to waste.

Eager to destroy Imperium archenemy Pandemic Horde, aiva developed a new form of economic warfare: Using stealth bombers against asteroids.

Even supposing the anti-asteroid weapons didn't work, aiva still had plenty of other secret weapons in the works: The "wreacking boallqual", the "wolfs", the "muse", the "skank trap", and plenty of others.

aiva was perfectly content to continue working on ways to eliminate PH's stockpiles of "mega cite". But aiva's colleagues were certain that there were more effective ways to employ the Imperium's new genius.

It was time for aiva to start getting his orders from the big boss himself.

So far, being the mastermind of the Imperium had been a desk job for aiva. But The Mittani apparently felt that aiva's obvious talents as a combat pilot and fleet commander were going to waste. No longer.

There was a catch, however.

The Mittani was willing to bring aiva out of the shadows and place him where he belonged--in the spotlight, at the head of the Imperium's most powerful fleet. Naturally, this meant that aiva would be piloting a titan. But titans cost money.

They cost lots of money, in fact.

Given that aiva had recently been mining highsec ore in Ventures and Retrievers, the estimated 115 billion isk cost of a titan was far outside aiva's price range. His only option was to get into a Rorqual and mine for the money.

Thanks to its exclusive access to the best space in nullsec, the Imperium is able to build titans for just 70 billion isk. Though a bit easier to swallow than 115 billion, it didn't change the bottom line for aiva: He wouldn't be able to afford it until after he had spent a good long time mining away in Delve. Which meant that someone would need to give him a Rorqual.

Despite the obstacles, aiva wanted to start leading the Imperium's fleets as soon as possible. Maybe there was a way to get rich quick? aiva considered the possibility of obtaining something at a low price and then selling it at a higher price.

If aiva was going to become nullsec's greatest military leader, he might first need to become Jita's most successful trader.

The Best Revenge, Part 18

Previously, on MinerBumping... aiva naali went shopping with the help of his friends from the New Order. Splurging on skill injectors and other luxuries proved to be aiva's favored form of recreation. After all, even aiva couldn't spend his whole life doing nothing but running the Imperium's military-industrial complex.

After a suitable break, aiva was again inspired. A new Nyx-based superweapon was on the horizon.

aiva planned to design and pilot the super-Nyx himself. And, unlike his previous superweapons, he wouldn't accidentally/intentionally leak the design to Pandemic Horde.

Suddenly, Agents Kalorned and Aiko Danuja reported a fantastic battle in progress.

Though aiva could not see the battle himself, Kalorned and Aiko's communications painted quite a picture.

aiva was aware of two major wars going on in nullsec: The one he'd engineered between the Imperium and Pandemic Horde, and the Chinese Civil War going on somewhere in the north. No matter the outcome of the wars, aiva had backup plans and backups to his backups.

Reading our Agents' war reports reminded aiva of the importance of having good leadership in charge of the Imperium at all times. To ensure the Imperium's success, he'd need to keep a close eye on the mega-coalition's titan fleet.

aiva's new interest in Nyxes made him consider if there was a way to decapitate the PH supercarrier fleet. But first he'd need to think up a way of tricking PH into parking their supercaps in one location.

After a time, aiva began to feel left out of the amazing wars he was hearing about, so he looked for a way to make a meaningful contribution.

aiva's friends in the New Order operated at the highest levels of Goon command. Aiko and Danuja had frequent meetings with The Mittani himself. Maybe one day aiva would enjoy the same privilege--after a security check was completed, of course.

Nevertheless, was aiva doing enough? Was he having enough impact on the all-important wars taking place in nullsec?

In addition to being an expert micromanager, aiva was a big-picture guy. In a casual message to Aiko, he dictated the terms of the Imperium's overall strategy moving forward.

aiva elaborated: The Imperium's key to victory rested in his new invention, the "wolfs".

aiva smiled at Aiko's attempt to refine aiva's own perfect design. (Imagine trying to use wolfs in groups of three instead of five!) There was a reason that aiva had been put in charge, after all. He was irreplaceable.

Kills of the Week

Login rewards? Alas, I cannot log in. According to the Anti-Gankers, I've been banned for the last few years. Then again, the Anti-Gankers are always wrong about everything. So I guess I can help myself to some EVE goodies, courtesy of Pearl Abyss. While I'm doing that, please enjoy these fine kills from the week of November 24th @ 00:00 EVEtime through November 30th @ 23:59 EVEtime...

What happens when a freighter pilot gets ganked too many times? For some, the answer is to use unconventional ships for hauling. istyle Taron shocked highsec with his 21 billion isk Typhoon Fleet Issue. Its fit was fail and its cargo was blingy. Inevitably, istyle was caught and killed by Agents Votre Dieu, Narl' Amhar, Astrid Tyrfing, Rungerd, Wilhelm Scylding, and Ingrid Scylding. Carebears, you cannot hide your contraband.

What's worse than putting ORE Strip Miners on your Mackinaw? Putting ORE Strip Miners on your Mackinaw and then going out to AFK mine with an active kill right. Truax Bahadur couldn't wait a month to mine, so he gave Agent LowPower Solutions a nice, CONCORD-free gank.

I suppose CONCORD doesn't protect the Goofuses like it used to. Roman Reva's Orca was actually destroyed by CONCORD after he tried to suicide gank Agent Krig Povelli. Roman threw away his Orca for reasons known only to himself--or, more likely, to no one.

U Naari picked a good time to lose his 8.9 billion isk Marshal. If you must lose such a blingy vessel, be sure to do it during a week when one of your fellow carebears loses a 21 billion isk Typhoon Fleet Issue. On the other hand, an even better option is to obey the Code. Then Agents Rungerd, Votre Dieu, Astrid Tyrfing, and Narl' Amhar won't need to kill you.

gamersboy94 had 8 billion isk worth of cargo to move. Luckily, he had a Deep Space Transport. The bad news was that he had no fittings for his ship. gamersboy94 decided that it was very unlikely that anyone would want to gank a DST, so he didn't bother to take the few seconds needed to equip a tank module or two. Agents Rante Charante, Vlada Inkunen, Ariku Orenuk, and Ukira Kunero courageously took action against the carebear for his recklessness.

What has gotten into these carebears lately? It was bad enough that Allen Outamon chose to go mining in a Rokh--but not a single shield module? Agents Alleil Pollard, Eduard Limonov, Misha Mawashi, Aiko Danuja, Maximus Gooseman, Illegal Facilitator, and Salah ad-Din al-Jawahiri removed this disgusting creature from highsec and demanded an explanation:

Allen was right about one thing: If you don't obey the Code, your gameplay is going to involve a lot of losing.

The New Order of Highsec is known for being effective and efficient. Why? Because we don't just talk about saving highsec; we actually get it done. Look at this month's supporter list. So many people talk about supporting this cause or that one--but the New Order does it in a tangible way. The bot-aspirants are fools, but they are not fools to fear us.
