Shareholders Reject Red Pen Appeal

The voting period has expired on the Red Pen appeal of highsec ice miner and Red Pen lister Peter XZ. Peter had asked to be removed from the Red Pen list on the basis that he was unaware of the provision against petitioning CCP to permaban Agents of the New Order. Peter was given the opportunity to write an EVEmail plea to the shareholders and have them vote on his fate. After considering Peter's appeal, the shareholders of the New Order voted overwhelmingly to reject it. Peter XZ will continue to be on the Red Pen list until such time as he pays his 30 million isk mining fee.

The final vote tally was as follows:

Shall Peter XZ be removed from the Red Pen list?

Yes -- 6 votes (00.1%)
No -- 6,071 votes (99.9%)
Abstain -- 0 votes

The shareholder voting thread may be found here, on the EVE-O in-game events subforum.

Voters offered a number of reasons for their votes. A strong commitment to upholding the Code was chief among their concerns. Few voters were impressed by Peter's excuse that he didn't know he wasn't supposed to petition people for bumping. Some were troubled by the fact that Peter didn't attempt to address or explain his other crimes. Some--though not all--expressed doubts about the sincerity of Peter's apology.

The shareholder vote on this matter should send a powerful message to others who might find themselves in Peter's shoes: Follow the Code. Read it, learn it, love it, live it.

  1. Hooray for in-game protection rackets. You people are lame as hell. I hope you all spontaneously explode, then get buried in penguin poopy.

  2. I'm not sure I can follow your math in counting the votes, but it sure is funny.
