Thirty-Two Billion and a Goblin Appears

Everyone's seeing double in the New Order these days. Yesterday we had a Double Supreme Protector's Tip of the Hat™ offered to a new shareholder who purchased two billion isk worth of shares. And now it's happened again, as a second new shareholder earns a Double Supreme Protector's Tip of the Hat™ for purchasing 2,000 shares and sending us past the 31 and 32 billion marks.

Today's double accolade goes to Gevlon Goblin. For those of you unfamiliar with Gevlon, he is a longtime blogger who made the jump from World of Warcraft to EVE. Owing in part to the readership he built in the WoW community, Gevlon is perhaps the most widely-read EVE blogger. He is best known for rapidly earning large amounts of isk as a new player by trading in highsec, all while blogging openly about his trading methods.

Gevlon posted about the New Order on his blog, and he included several screenshots of Outuni local--whose miners had strong reactions to his bumping them out of the ice field.

  1. Been hoping that Gevlon would give up on the nonsense in null and do what he does best - beat people to death with a masterful grasp of economics and logistics.

  2. When I was a WoW player (yes, its true) Gevlon, through his website, taught me enough WoW economics to become the most powerful and hated master of the auction house on my server. But what I really learned from him was that all games must really be mastered economically. With a torrent of income comes real, lasting power and the freedom to seek and attain any goal.

I was pleased when he turned his attention to Eve and am doubly pleased now that he has stepped onto our side of the scale. The true power of the New Order has been our ability to adapt to any changes and challenges presented to us by CCP or the miners. OK, just CCP as the miners never change or challenge anyone. I hope Gevlon adds his analytical skill and insight to our efforts. The two billion will help a little too...

  4. goblin is... uncharacteristically blind about all of this: the new order has no way to guarantee that those paying indulgences aren't botting as well. in fact, those with the conviction to stand up for themselves are more likely the non-botters. of course, high sec mining is pretty much all about botters... if the miner really was actively mining, why don't they go low-sec mining instead? the only real reason for high sec mining would be if the player is a noob and can't quite mine low sec effectively until skills finish training... which also means they probably wouldn't be mining ice either since ice takes some time to train as well. so going after the ice fields wouldn't really help anyone since most real players don't mine high-sec ice. real players mine asteroids until they train up skills, then they go low-sec where the real money is...
    unless they're wussies..
the only question i have is why a group this strong would intentionally seek out the weakest of the weak

    1. ^This, pretty much. They're just trying to hide it behind some piss poor roleplaying.

    2. "then they go low-sec where the real money is..."

      Are you really this clueless?

Low-sec is the least profitable area to mine. The ores are barely worth any more than high-sec ores and the risk and logistics of getting in, mining and then getting the ore out all without losing your ship(s) makes any idea of earning more ISK/hr than in high-sec a joke.

    3. But this is the very point both 315 and GG are making, that the Order is simply encouraging players to *play* Eve. With other MMO's, you may be AFK at any given time but you have an eye on the screen (in a queue for example). However Bot-Aspirants are self admittedly "doing something else" while mining. James wants to change this.

The "extortion" many miners claim is, simply, a token. Something to represent a conscience decision to reject bot-aspirism. Now what GG is trying to say is that James should try to involve the code compliant miner a little more. Give them something to play *for*. Code-compliant miners should be messaging each other, looking for quislings in their midst. Notifying agents of new arrivals in system, even letting them know a miner they just messaged is actually code-compliant. If the miners takeaway is that they will see mineral prices rise, then shouldn't they enthusiastically promote the success of the Order?

Perhaps this is where CCP could add a way for miners to more activly take part in the "defense" of the belts against the mutually agreed evils of botting and bot-aspirism.

    4. well...after your (referring to the New order in general, not you, Kaino) bullying got the police involved courtesy of CCP, I left the game(After all, why play a game where your gameplay is shut down by cyberbullys?)...so you literally cannot do anything to me anymore given that Blizzard and EA perma-ban for the sorta stuff you did to me in EVE.

    5. No one cares about doing anything to You in particular, get over yourself. All you've done is admit you fail at eve.

    6. Gee Largefish10, imagine that; A game where running your mouth can have consequences. That is the kind of game that EVE is. Bullying, harassment & griefing will get you banned in any game, but each game has it's own definition of what is acceptable behaviour.

Everything that happened was a result of you running your mouth & attracting further attention to yourself & you have no one else to legitimately blame but yourself. The upside to all of this is EVE is also a game where you have the same tools available as anyone else to defend yourself. You chose not you use them, you chose to be a victim.

    7. Largefish, enjoy your boring, developer driven content in the worlds of EA and Blizzard, Eve isn't for everyone and you're obviously not cut out for it. The fact that CCP consider gameplay that would get you banned in most MMOs is normal in Eve is what makes Eve better (IMHO) than the other MMOs, but please stop posting, you're just making yourself look like a small child who's had his sweets stolen.

    9. Speaking of whiny comment makers who look like they're off their meds... Capt Lynch appears to complain a bit more!

    10. Not really...just trying to annoy you...one thing Tubrug caught me when he whined about how I tricked him into getting his tornado concorded trying to shoot me...your tears taste nice.

    11. Nothing would annoy me more than you giving me all of your EVE stuff.

    12. I also, unlike you, have a fully functional brain which is why you'll have to do far better then that.

    13. Haha too bad your big ol' brain wasn't smart enough for eve.

    14. You all made it clear that you planned to drive me off the game...why waste my time when I can be having fun on other games where idiots like you aren't welcome?

Is that the best insult you can manage, Danks? You'll have to do better then that. 0/10 for effort.

    15. If you're leaving how come you keep posting here?

    16. The thing you still don't seem to understand is that none of us had any intention of driving you out of the game, you came up with that all on your own. You sought out the New Order all by your self, we didn't seek you out. After being burned the first time, you again sought us out & attracted bad attention to your self.

Everything that happened to you was a result of your initial actions. I'm sorry that you're not intelligent enough to understand but on that note, for the health of EVE Online, it does not need people like you.

I'm still waiting for your stuff though. Getting that Machariel of yours would be the most annoying thing that's ever happened to me in EVE, & I honestly fear for my mental wellbeing when you send it to me.

    17. Who is this pathetic loser again? Oh, and just wait until your sparkling personality gets you permabanned from life, snowflake; consider EVE a wake-up call.

Now fuck off, adults are talking.

Because if it's true, then it's a result of your repeatedly claiming to be suicidal.

    1. You're as unstable as I am if you think that you did NOTHING to drive me to that point with the constant slur blogs, the ingame taunting...the actions that got me kicked out of corps.

You took the game far further beyond what I did...I was playing for fun and only got into this trouble due to trying to have a debate with James that was blown far out of proportion and twisted into some minda...terrorist activity.

You guys however seem to get your jollies taking the fun out of the game for alot of other people.

Maybe driving people off EVE won't torpedo the game as many people seem to think (me NOT included) but it WILL drive up subscription prices if enough people leave or are dissuaded from upgrading from a trial account.

That is why WoW's and SWTOR's prices have DROPPED...they have more people on their servers and can afford to pay less.

I hope for your sake you realise that soon otherwise you might end up only having WoW and SWTOR to choose from...not cause EVE's gone...but cause you won't be able to afford it. (Before I left it was already reflecting in the PLEX prices on the EVE website...three years, I played and PLEX never used to be almost £30 for just two)

    2. Isnt SWTOR free to play, like many MMO's before it, that my friend is a death rattle

      Delete
    3. SWTOR went free to play & the sub price of warcraft hasn't changed since it started. As for the actions that you speak of, you brought it all on your self. What's even more sad is that you're trying to blame other for your personal issues. Seek help for your own wellbeing.

    4. Coming from one of the guys who caused this, Mallak...doesn't mean jack shit to me. The day I concider your advice anything other then another attempt to make me miserable will be a sorry day indeed...and isn't DUST514, CCP's latest addition to EVE also Free to Play? By mr anons own admission...that means EVE's in trouble too if its tie in game has to START as free to play.

Last I checked, SWTOR was doing just fine, Mr Anon...but you'd know that if you came out of the closet your parents kee you in once in a while.

    5. I haven't seen sub prices increase in the last 4 years, in fact since they introduced the £ as an accepted currency my subs have gone down in cost.

    6. EVE Online: A game where running your mouth can actually have consequences. I seem to have gone over this before. Dust is free to play, but it isn't EVE. People play EVE because they like a sandbox with spaceships, people will play dust because they like a first person shooter where they can call in a spaceship to blow people up.

Your understanding of how things are working around you gets increasingly delusional.

      Delete
    7. as does your delusion that driving people off EVE won;t have an effect either.

Oh, and anonymous guy? I was talking about PLEX (as was evidenced when I said that PLEX prices had risen)...NOT the sub prices for which i said they WOULD go up...that that they HAD gone up...get your eyes tested.

And here I am, still running my mouth...I don't count being driven off a game a consequence...It actually means I got more money for real world things. Even others bullies would find you guys pathetic.

      Delete
    8. It's not about bullying & never has been. It's about playing the game for what it is within the game rules. EVE was clearly not for you & people like you aren't healthy for the continuation of the game.

      Delete
    9. SWTOR is free to play, but the free content and gear sucks.

Budget as much money as you would for WoW if you want an enjoyable game.

Largefish10: I don't have a dog in this fight ... but damned, you are giving these folks all sorts of free skullspace. If this wasn't important to you, then why show up here?

first rule of EvE: Tears are precious ... and you apparently live on this blog just to generate them.

  6. LargeFish10, i am new but oh please get over yourself.
EVE is a game about intergalactic warfare. Its supposed to be brutal and players can change the game with their own efforts and determination.

You want a safe galaxy where the admins will ban anyone that touches your ships' hull? You want to be able to make (over time) billions of isk via mining/carebearing without the need to even be at the computer for the majority of the time?? James 315 and the New Order said a resounding NO!!! to that and they put their words into action!

If i was caught on the wrong end of the New Order's policing i would MOVE away from the systems they are enforcing. So is warping your fat mining barge a few jumps further away impossible for you!?!

You are like a deer caught in the headlights. You could run, you could use exercise some intelligence and go around the traffic but instead you wanna stand smack in the middle of the road and stare until the car runs you over! (and demand that no drivers be allowed to drive past that stretch of road after you got hurt!?)

People like you call the new order bullies - why? Because they blew up your ship or affected your isk income? What about the null sec roaming gankers and low sec pirates? The highsec gate campers and scammers?? They do the same thing EXACTLY - they create danger for careless players and can cause damage to their wallet. You are only upset because now a group of players TARGET miners (you). At least the New Order gives you warning and leaves you alone if you pony up 10mil and add a line to your bio. Have you even experienced Hulkaggeddon or the Goon Ice Interdiction?? Random ppl will just warp in to the belt and pop you without as much as a "lol"

I bet if you were a hauler instead of miner you will be posting the same nonsense (bully, driving ppl off EVE) but pointing your finger at suicide gankers and gate campers instead!

Fuck man but obviously you were playing EVE for all the wrong reasons!
(or you think this is farmville in space!???!?)

    Good day to you!

    1. oh...and one more thing...I've lost my share of ships like anyone else...did I give a fuck? No...was I a fucking miner? NO! I was a mission runner (or do miners in your dream world fly tengu's and rattlesnakes?

What I gave a fuck about was how James would make sure his agents chased me out of any corp I joined because that IS bullying. Ie: singling out a single person for repeated constant grief.

So again...STFU and gets your facts in order before you pass judgement

    2. Sorry, but you seem to think you are important enough for folks to do a background check on you. I don't think so.

From all the bitching comments i see from you just in a few comment posts in this blog, yes i think you do give a very big fuck about being exploded in a game of internet spaceships.

So does the New Order bump mission runners now without reason?
Screenshots please. Otherwise all i see from you is a truckload of bitching. HTFU please sir. We are here to read about James 315's exploits not to endure your whining.

      Thanks alot!
