Bumper Fleet Assembling in Tolle this Sunday

As I wrote in the State of the Order address, our vacation in Gallente highsec will be ending. Before we return to our homeland, we will take one more vacation, in a very nice ice field system. Roooooooooooooad triiiiiiiiiiiiip!

We will meet in Tolle for some bumping, and then we will depart for our destination. What system will receive the grace and grandeur of the New Order next? That's top secret, and will only be announced moments before we leave. Like the Mongol hordes of old, we will show up in the target system in advance of the very news of our arrival!

Who is "we"? Everyone who reads this post is invited. Even if you have never bumped a miner in your heretofore mild existence, we welcome you to join in. Our Agents are the friendliest people you'll meet, so don't be shy.

One more thing. I would like everyone who can to bring along one small secure container. They cost about 9,000 isk in the major market hubs, take up 100 m³ of cargo space, and require Anchoring I to anchor. If you forget, don't worry, because we will pass by systems that sell them along the route to our mystery destination. Upon arrival, we will be able to commemorate the day by anchoring our containers at a distance from the ice field. The locals will be ecstatic.

WHEN: Sunday, November 11th at 21:00 EVEtime (4:00pm Eastern)
WHERE: Tolle ice field
BRING: 1 small secure container (if possible)

Our previous calls to bumps have been a great time for everyone, so don't miss it!

  1. I might be bringing something special since I will be moving systems and my normal bump ships will be in a much bigger ship. In fact, I think the area I'm moving to is not too far away from Tolle =)

    1. Does this constitute spam? Because it certainly isn't adding anything meaningful to discussion.

    3. Hey I just didnt want Anslo to miss out on his promotion of his own site. I want his movement to get support and do well although after bumping a Order friendly miner I have lost some faith in Anslo.

    4. Yea it kind of defeats the purpose of enforcing an idea by doing the exact same thing you rail against in the first place.

  3. What's the best fit for a cheap bumping ship? Can we get one for each racial type if possible.

    1. A fine idea. I'll start us off with Minmatar:

      Ship: Stabber
      Highs: [empty]
      Mids: 10mn microwarpdrive I, 2 x large shield extender I
Lows: inertia stabilizer I, 2 x nanofiber internal structure I

    2. Any cruiser can be fit similiarly to the Immortal Stabber (or non navy faction as well).

      Amarr-
      Ship:Omen
      High:Anything
Mids: 10mn MWD (or have fun with a 100mn if you can handle it!)
Lows: IS x1, Nanofiber x1 Cap Power Relay x2, Anything else (depending if you fit a navy issue)

Basically just run a mwd and whatever you want, use a cruiser or larger. All about throwin that weight around =)

    3. There is also a cottage industry in trying to gank bumpers - should fit at least a modest tank to minimize this risk. Unless you have a very large number of lows this should probably be a shield tank.

    4. Yeam, omen has a few mids to use but only listed the MWD to leave other options open.

    5. With due respect to our glorious leader, I think one can do a bit better than that with a Stabber.

As Kalenn said, the aspiring bumper should think about defense -- enough tank to survive the 15-20 seconds or so until Concorde locks down any would-be ganker. So you'll want a damage control in the lows. For a very cheap fit and low skills, the F85 Peripheral Damage System I is probably the sweet spot. If you have the skills (that is, you've put the day of training into Hull Upgrades IV), a Damage Control II is better, but more expensive. Similarly, you can use Large F-S9 Regoliths with no more skills than Large Shield Extender Is, and they are only a bit more expensive.

Also, you can get more speed and/or agility if you rig it. Use Medium Auxiliary Thrusters and Medium Low Friction Nozzle Koints -- both are cheap. The skill to rig does require 12 hours more training time, but this is worthwhile I think.

Beta Nanofiber Internal Structures are super cheap (15k ISK), and probably the sweet spot for nanofibers.

I am curious as to what experienced bumpers think of using Overdrive Injectors vs nanofibers. Obviously you get more speed, and thus better bumps, when you do hit -- but using nanofibers helps agility and thus hitting ability. How hard is it to hit with stabber that has not had its agility improved? Should starting bumpers use nanofibers then move up to overdrive once they get better aim?

    6. Bumpers need not worry about much in the way of defence. Despite miners being the victims of suicide ganks since forever, they have learned absolutely nothing about suicide ganking.

  4. I'll be there with bells on (and a secure container).

  5. Looking forward to another round of Bumpageddon. May the engine trails show others the light of the new order!

  7. A regular stabber does just fine, but those agility improvements help.

  8. I like the nanofiber for turn and burn. Initial thrust never seems to be an issue with MWD's.

    1. Overdrive's are very useful for the 100mn SFI, but I prefere nano's when utilising the 10mn fit.
